VIP Pets Glam Gems Kiara Variant

I checked Walmart by work on the way home tonight to see if they had Juliet or Esmeralda. I came across one with a pink heart and tried to see inside. I rubbed at the window on the bottle and could see a lighter muzzle, but the heart color looked more like Kiara's than Lady Gigi's.

I ended up buying the bottle to look it over in better light. When I got home, I knew it wasn't Gigi. There was no light blaze all the way up her face and no star by the eye. My Kiara, which is the one on the right up there, has a decidedly darker muzzle, so I thought maybe this was Juliet.

So I opened the bottle and it was Kiara again, but boy, does she look different!

My new Kiara (left) is quite a bit darker than the first one (right). I think you can see how I thought her muzzle was lighter than her body. Her eyelashes are also a lot darker on the one on the right.

I really like the left one so it was a happy mistake, but that's a pretty big variation in color!

I can't remember how I described her hair yesterday, but I did get that wrong. It's blonde but it does have yellow streaks, and it's also got pink, green and blue. The colors show more on the new one.

Still on the hunt for Juliet and Esmeralda!

Magic Mixies Mixlings Series 1

I'm nearing completion on my Magic Mixies Mixlings Series 1 set, so I thought I'd post some pics. I'll update with new photos if I can find the remaining 3 I'm missing. And I need to get the 4-pack.

This is the full set of Enchanters as shown in the checklist. I didn't put the ones of the same mold right next to each other.

L to R: Pixly, Grund, Tuglin, Jumo, Punbun, Gruffin, Tawny, Jally

Each Enchanter has different eyes that pertain to their power. You roll the eyes from their simpler form to this fancy look and back again. I like most of mine kept on the regular eyes, but Tuglin, Jumo and Tawny keep their special eyes.

Pixly's power is charm. Grund is peace. Tuglin has night vision. Jumo's is eclipse. Punbun has color shift. Gruffin has hypnosis. Tawny has future sight. Jally has illusion.

Next is the full set of fliers. These have wings that pop out. I just keep mine displayed with the wings always out.

L to R: Gwindle, Hixie, Sintra, Duska, Gokky, Hart, Selina, Dawne.

The Morphlings are my least complete set. I'm missing two, Meryn and Tarlo.

L to R: Bunto, Minna, Tokki, Luggle, Brinkle, Lewink.

These have shapeshifting features. Bunto and Brinkle have four arms. You can actually move the arms down to make it look like they only have two. I prefer the four visible. Meryn is a mercat. As you can probably tell, she just sits lower on her tail. She's "morphed" here in the photo. Luggle and Lewink have long necks. I have Lewink's extended and Luggle's normal.

And Tokki's body extends to give him two extra legs.

The Vanishers are almost complete. I'm only missing Salma, who's a blue cat in the same mold as Stayla, the orange one.

L to R: Nabine, Parlo, Mobbin, Nita, Stayla, Priya, Mirra.

These are color change. You stick them in the freezer and they keep their color for ages. I touched up a few of them before shooting this, but missed Priya, so you can see what happens when the color fades. It just gets a bit patchy. I popped her in the freezer after and she's back to being solid yellow now.

And finally, the full set of Spellsters.

L to R: Worrle, Gorru, Quip, Ramzi, Wondu, Geckler, Quira, Roshu.

These guys have glow in the dark forehead gems and palms.

These are my five favorites, though they're not displayed in matching order: Pixly, Hixie, Tuglin, Roshu and Worrle.

Roshu is one of the first ones I opened and he's my overall fave. Tuglin is second and Worrle third. Pixly and Hixie are tied. Other ones I really love are Punbun, Tawny, Gwindle, Sintra, Gokky, Bunto, Tokki, Brinkle, Ramzi, and Quira.

I hope to find more soon! I've exhausted all my local Walmarts and Target hasn't had new ones for ages.

REVIEW: Monster High Creepover Frankie

I ordered all my Creepover dolls from Amazon because even my best Walmart is being slow with MH. (Though I did find the little plushies there, so I can't really complain. I still need Frankie and Count Fab but I hope to find them someday.)

Frankie was my fave from the line after Twyla (of course).

Back of the box.

I love the pillow. So cute.

The cap on the energy drink does come off.

WATZIE! I'm a huge fan.

Frankie tends to lose their neck a lot. I think it's the fuzzy collar of the robe combined with the higher-riding top and the photo angle.

They stand on their own in these weird slipper boots.

They are simply gorgeous. Best Frankie of the new line. I don't care if others may have better clothes. This is the best doll yet.

I was hesitant to put the headband on but managed to get it off after this without messing up their hair. Whew.

I'm not going to do a series of them holding each accessory. I'm sure others have done that.

I'm in the minority and don't hate the pink. Now that they're this light blue, red wouldn't go as nicely, and if they left out the pink, we'd get tired of blue lips over and over. It's not the same as the original, but neither is the doll. I think they look just fine in pink.

I love the pale, glow in the dark-looking green accents. The slipper boots weren't a great choice, but I don't utterly hate them.

Overall, I absolutely love the doll and the outfit is mostly cute. I'm happy to have them sitting on Cleo's bed, awaiting the rest of the Creepover guests.

REVIEW: Angel High Series 2 Rio & Trixee

Zuru snuck out a second Itty Bitty Prettys Angel High series before the apparent demise of the line. I was surprised they made it to Amazon and even more surprised when they started to ship. These two are the first arrivals.

They come in little brown shipper boxes that amusingly have their original names on them. Rio (white hair) was Britt Flair and Trixee (red and black) was Scarlett.

They each come with a checklist, an "angel cloud," and the wings on the back of the ball are a barrette.

Here's the checklist.

And the other side.

Rio's accessories. I'm predictably not putting that fanny pack on her. I don't think it would fit with the wings even if I did like it.

She's adorable.

Her wings gave me a little difficulty. You have to put the waist part on first and then attach the wings, but they weren't wanting to stay on for the first few tries.

Trixee's accessories.

I guess the wings are color change. Maybe they have makeup, too? I haven't checked yet but may later.

She's so goofy cute. I love her. Her hair is dark brown, not black.

Mine sadly has that dark smudge on her face. I may eventually buy a second one or attempt to clean her up with a little acetone.

Her wings actually do fit with the cage skirt.

So there they are, the first two! I have one that should be here tomorrow, and then the other four haven't shipped yet.

VIP Pets Glam Gems Part 3

When they went on sale, I tried a third order of VIP Pets. There are 13 total. I have 7. I ordered 10, figuring that would be decent odds.

Eh.

I ended up with only 3 new ones out of 10.

What I learned from this is that the colors of the bottle don't matter. I have doubles of Maya in both pink and purple, and I got Mimi in both pink and green.

I picked up one of the three I still needed on ebay, but that leaves me without my favorite (Esmeralda) and my 4th favorite (Juliet). If anyone spies them anywhere, please let me know.

We'll go in alphabetical order and start with Agatha. I'm a September so sapphire was definitely one I wanted, meaning Agatha was my 3rd most wanted.

She is very pretty. I love that hair.

The stone is a little pale for sapphire. I would have preferred a darker blue to match her hair.

These are amusing.

She's lovely. Agatha is my 2nd fave of the 9 I own.

Kiara was one of the few I didn't really care about.

Her gem is ruby, which that is not. It's not even red. Her brush would have been the right color. I'm not sure how she's ruby when Alexia's gem looks more like a ruby. And the clip-on with pearls isn't even red. Weird.

Kiara has the tiltiest stand. If you straighten this photo so the back of my shelf is actually straight, you can see how tipped she is.

She looks oddly cute in these. They work somehow.

Her hair is blonde with light pink and light blue. Sort of like Lady Gigi but less milky colors and Kiara doesn't have green.

She really has a lot of colors going on.

With the gem in.

Kiara is one of three with a heart-shaped gem.

On the left is Lady Gigi's. On the right is Kiara's.

They're easy to tell apart in the bottle though. Gigi has a white muzzle and that really stands out.

I'm not sure if I like her better than Bianca or not. Either way, those two are my least faves. If I can track down my missing two, I'll do a ranking. It's been a little while.

This is a really odd choice for me, I know, but Mimi was actually my 2nd most wanted.

Yeah, the pink one.

She is cool though! I like that her eyebrows fade into nothingness, and I love the black shirt along with the pale pink and blue.

She has some blue in her hair.

Nah.

She's so cute.

Easily my fave of the ones I have. I'm a sucker for that milky, super pale pink. I blame G3 Fluttershy from all those years ago.

Mimi's gem is morganite, which I've never heard of. It's light pink so it works.

VIP Pets Glam Gems Part 2

My second order of Glam Gems arrived today. I ordered 7 of them and got 6 different ones. The bottles come in three different colors and I got to open 2 of each.

Thanks to being able to see the gems on top, I knew I had 6 different ones very quickly.

And thanks to the gem and the color change window in front, I confirmed that I had a double of the purple gem here and set that one aside for return.

Maya is the rounder dark pink gem and Nyla is the dark purple rectangular gem. (She's the one I got 2 of.)

Maya's accessories.

I was hoping the loopy pieces would work as earrings, but they fly right off. I'm well aware this is a hairplay line and I'm impressed at the number of different hairstyles and hairstyle accessories they come up with for these dogs, but I do wish they had some jewelry!

All of them come with the clear plastic rubberbands. I'm only showing them here with Maya's stuff though.

Maya is lovely. I liked her in the promo pics, though she wasn't a top fave.

Nope.

I did a pic of her with only the tiara but it didn't come out. So we're going right to her final shot with the pearl accessory on.

Maya is amethyst, though her stone is a little too pink in my opinion, and while pink and purple are never my faves, she does them justice.

Moving on to Nyla, the other pink and purple one.

I don't know why they thought those dark yellow hair beads matched her colors. No.

She has no yellow on her, unlike Maya.

These are halfway cute.

With the tiara.

Final look. Both Maya and Nyla got the pearl/jewel looped over their ear like I did for Aurora.

Nyla is purpurite, which I have never heard of. It's actually a really cool-looking stone that I think has some gothy vibes, so I would have liked to have seen a darker character representing it, like Lilith from the original VIP Pets line.

She's very pretty though and I'm glad to have her.

Now the green bottles.

Jasmine is the yellow stone and Lady Gigi is the pink heart.

According to the pamphlet there is only one yellow stone, so if you want Jasmine, just look for the yellow gem in the top.

She comes with gemstone stickers like Aurora, only these are pearls and they're much cooler.

Jasmine was my fifth most wanted, so I was happy to open her. She's my favorite of all the ones I've opened so far (because I did not get a single one of my top 4).

Her hair is similar to Aurora's but not quite the same. The green is much brighter.

Not awful but not great.

The bold yellow with her color scheme takes some getting used to, but she is covered with yellow accents so it works.

Hers was the first necklace I had that did not want to stay shut. I finally got it to hold a few strands of hair and hang loose.

Jasmine is citrine.

I really love her. Great colors.

I really had no interest in Lady Gigi, but she surprised me.

She is the only one so far to come with hair gel and it's glittery.

She has folded over ears! So cute!

Her hair is a pastel semi-rainbow. Blonde and lighter pink on top with the lighter blue and green on the bottom.

Absolutely not.

Gigi's hair accessory plugs into her head, unlike the others I've opened that all have tiaras. Any with folded ears may also have this. Actually, looking at the pamphlet, it looks like only Juliet has folded ears aside from Gigi. Shame because they're terribly cute.

Gigi is quartz, which is pretty neat.

She's not one I expected to love, but I do. She's my third fave of the seven I have.

And finally, the purple bottles.

I was excited when I saw the blue stone because I thought it was one of the blue-themed ones, but no, it's Bianca.

Her hair is pale yellow, white and pale pink.

She's cute, because they're all cute, but she's decidedly plain.

That actually helps a little, which is kinda sad.

Okay, now we're talking.

Bianca is topaz. She's okay, but definitely my least fave of my seven.

And finally, Alexia! She was my sixth most wanted. (Yes, I kept track of my top 6.)

Alexia is color color color!

Like Gigi, she has a semi-rainbow in her hair, but hers are the standard shades of red, yellow, green and blue.

She somehow works these crazy things. I almost left them on her, but I like her makeup.

Easily my favorite tiara so far.

Alexia is...coral. An interesting choice because it's not a mineral at all but organic.

I love her a lot. It's nice to have some bold colors because the others are all more pastel-leaning.

And now I need to order one more larger batch to try to get my top 4! Argh. At least returns are easy.
