REVIEW: Magic Mixies Mixlings Series 3

Saw the single cauldrons at Target and grabbed two.

Codes are still on the bottom, but they're much harder for me to read with my contacts in. I'll have to go shopping for these wearing my glasses, which I can take off. As blind as I am, I can read tiny print best without either contacts or glasses.

I will be doing a separate post for codes, so as not to bog it down with photos.

The opening feature is fizz stuff. Blah blah blah. Just punch through the paper with your thumb like I did. No water near my toys.

Annoyingly, now they're in plastic bags so they could be fizzed without getting wet. Even more plastic wasted by toy companies.

Really cute though.

Zleep is a Glowling.

Fexza is a Loxie.

Zleep's flower tail is adorable and I really do like the little hair tufts on the Loxies.

Okay, off to write up the code post.

APHMAU Meemows Series 3 figures & Series 4 plush

Target had a bunch of these new Series 3 Meemow figures, so I bought one.

I'm pretty sure these still lack the codes Series 1 had. Sigh.

I got the sun! I love it.

These are seriously super cool.

I'm so tempted to go back tomorrow and buy more.

Here's the checklist. I want moon and sapphire the most, but I'd take most of them. Rainbow's the only one I'm really not into.

Here's a promo pic of the Celestial plush I grabbed from Amazon. The faceted designs are cute but work much better as figures. I still want sapphire anyway. It's my birthstone. I think moon is by far the cutest. Sun doesn't work as well in plush form.

Target had a box for these, but they'd all sold out.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Junior High Holly

Holly is here! She's the last one I wanted from Series 3.

Gorgeous.

The twins were definitely far better treated in this line. They're both beautiful, and I like the style of the outfits and shoes. The scrunchies are cute.

While I like Laurel, too, I favor Holly thanks to the cool colors and the black.

Love the gems on the shoes!

I kind of want her backpack in my size, minus the HH.

Another cute RH Junior High line. I still see a lesser quality than the mainbow got for Series 1, but I think these girls did better than Series 2.

I'm hoping the line lives so we get Series 3 in junior form, but I saw a listing for Junior High Jewel somewhere, so...they're jumping right to Series 4? Ugh. While I want to see Mila, Meena and Deliliah in particular, I also really wanted Emi, Daphne, Daria and Georgia in junior form.

REVIEW: Magic Mixies Pixlings Unia

Okay, first thing, we are not using her new name. It is HORRIBLE. DeerLee was at least still a cute name, just not one as nice as Willow. A little too cutesy. But Unia is AWFUL. Her original name was Celeste and that is what mine will be. What is with these toy companies lately? MGAE is naming RH/SH characters like they're My Little Pony and now Moose is slipping back into their Zelfs days with these girls.

And she's not even a unicorn. She's got wings. She's a unipeg/pegacorn. Or if you're in G4 MLP, an alicorn. (Technically, that's the horn itself.)

Celeste is easy to ID in her bottle. Her gem is the purplish one. Willow's was an obvious lighter pink.

And I was instantly smitten.

Y'all know me. I frequently grump about how overused pink and purple are. I mean, honestly, Willow would have been amazing in shades of brown instead of all those pinks. But Celeste makes them work every bit in her favor.

I think there's something about her skin color, particularly the vinyl of her head, that takes me back to G3 pony days.

Plus, unlike Willow, her huge ears are visible. And gorgeous.

I doubt I captured it, but her freckles include a tiny crescent moon and stars. They're so tiny that I'm sure they're not visible in the pic, but they're the white freckles over her nose. Her cheek decorations are three stars and a wing on each side.

Her shoes are adorable and have a pearly sheen.

Her legs are also pearly, while her head is more slightly translucent and glittery. Her hands and ears are painted two different non-glittery, non-pearly shades, so she's got a lot of skintone mismatching going on, yet it works.

Love her ears so much. The ears in this line are amazing.

Her hair is super silky just like Willow's. And I adore the light crimping. The two little ear bangs are gelled.

Her wings are not removable. They're part of her.

She looks like a magical gymnast.

She does have a more disjointed body mold than Willow. Still not as bad as Shoppies though.

"Hey, Celeste!"

"Hi, Willow! Are we the first ones here?"

"Yeah. Marena is fishionably late."

*groan* "Stop."

Final thoughts: I love her even more than Willow, which is very unusual considering her colors. It's the combo of the ears, the freckles, the face, the hair, and the shoes, I think. She's simply delightfully beautiful and delicate.

Celeste in particular reminds me of Nebulous Stars art. I wish Moose would team up with them to produce bigger fashion dolls that aren't their giant dolls. Seeing these Pixlings, I know Moose could make dolls that look just like their art.

Now we just have to wait for Marena!

REVIEW: Zombaes Abandoned Pet Shop

I wasn't going to get this set, but then I caved.

The dolls are packed the same way as the singles, except they're tucked in the "rooms."

I just tossed the playset. It's cardboard. Nothing special.

I wish these girls had names, but no.

I assume she's supposed to be the shop clerk. Or a fancy vet? Pet shops sometimes have vets these days.

I love her eyes!

This one is basically Velma.

And this one loves cats and fish. (There's a cat on her purse.)

Their hair colors are cool.

I gave Velma the bird and turtle.

I love that turtle.

Clerk is trying to clean up after the mess dog and cat are making.

The dolls are great, but the pets are even greater. I love the dog, cat and turtle in particular.

This one's being attacked by a fish.

I'd say this set is worth the $30. Same cost as 3 regular dolls, but with more pet variety.

I love them all, so no regrets on buying a playset I just trashed.

REVIEW: Magic Mixies Mixlings Series 3 5-pack

Ah, the 5-pack came today!

Series 3 is WAY more busy than the past two series. Honestly, a bit busier than it needs to be, but I'm warming up to them. The sculpts are excellent.

The wands are also beautifully sculpted this time.

Way fancier cauldron.

So this is Maya, one of the flying ones.

Pinkney is a Loxie. The magic feature of these guys is fuzzy hair.

Not that visible from this angle.

There it is. It's cute.

Raina-Bobo (what?) glows.

I love the lantern! It makes a really cute doll accessory, though I wish the handle had a wider opening so the Pixlings could hold it.

Otis is a Luckling. The wand spins the fortune in the crystal ball around.

Tada!

This is a cute idea.

The water change one is Pupple. You're supposed to put hot or cold water in the little bottle to activate him.

You can sort of see it here. He changes back really fast. The one from the truck is on the right and he stays changed longer.

That is Frickle on the left. I didn't review the truck because I didn't open it. I'm selling it to the local toy store.

Definitely impressed with the sculpts and wands, and the fortune power is really cool.
