REVIEW: Dream Seekers

I should really call these lazy reviews.

I finally got around to picking up some of Moose Toys' Dream Seekers now that I'm sure the line is over.

The dolls are very cheap on Amazon. You can get Luna here, Hope, Bella or Celeste for $10.10-$11.88. Even the deluxe one is only $13 and change.

I didn't take any boxed photos, because I wasn't sure I'd be posting them at all, but I figured why not?

So this is Luna the dancer.

Each doll comes with a comb and 3 barrettes that I don't have on any of them.

This is Celeste. I had no idea she existed and she's the reason I ended up buying some of these. I just loved her and I figured I'd grab Luna at the same time, since I always liked her, too.

She's gorgeous and has amazing hair.

Celeste is the singer.

And finally, Zara. I had to get her on Mercari because she's sold out on Amazon.

Zara doesn't have a professional goal. Her goal is basically that everyone will have the freedom to be their own kind of beautiful. And honestly, that's so much more important than being a performer. Way to go, Zara. Sure, dancers and singers can inspire, but I like that her goal is other people's happiness.

I like that these are weighted in the butt so they sit nicely. Their stiff wings don't make them cuddly soft dolls, but they're great regardless. They were a cute idea and I'm glad I got around to getting them.

REVIEW: Penny's Box Dreamlike Tea Party

There's a new series of blind box BJDs from Penny's Box! As they're little centaurs, I had to preorder them. They arrived from Jane's Dolland a few days ago and I finally got around to fixing them up and taking photos.

These cost $27.99 per box or a full case of 6 is $167.94. With this you are guaranteed 6 different dolls. Likely, you will get the regular 6, but a few lucky people will get the rare or super rare in place of a regular character. (I doubt any case would have both rares in it.)

I didn't leave any undressed in the photos. I'm honestly too tired to do as thorough a review as I usually try to do. (Pollen....aaaagghhh.) There are pics of these all over IG though, so they won't be hard to find.

Each one comes with a little dress, a tail, and a pair of wings.

Mine also each had two pairs of extra hands in different poses. I'm not brave enough to try to put them on. The hooks are so tiny!

So this is the tan girl. I love her. She's one of my four faves.

Going by the translations on Jane's Dolland, her name is Champagne.

Continuing in alphabetical order, this is Fantasy.

I don't love her, but I do like her. Her hair is a really neat material.

Mostly, these dolls are pros: detailed, highly poseable (even the hooves move!), beautiful faces, excellent colors.

However, this series has two cons the first series did not.

The biggest con is those tails. Of the six dolls I have, only ONE doll was able to keep her tail in. The others were either unstable or the tail refused to stay on at all. They're on pegs that go into a hole on the butt. I get that they wanted to keep the tails jointed for posing, but they could have used magnets like they did for the wings. Then you would have had to pose the tail first and pop it into the magnet, but it would have been better than them not staying put at all.

As I'm not planning on selling any of them, I decided to glue the pegs into the holes. It worked perfectly and I can still move them all just fine.

I'll get to my second con in a bit. Right now, let's just look at how cute she is.

This is Memory. I like that name.

I like her a lot. All the browns. I actually really love browns on Asian dolls. I don't know why exactly. The companies must just design better with mostly brown themes than American doll companies do.

Little pigtails.

Okay, here's Neon. Now we get to my second con: wobbly heads. They don't all have them, but Neon has an extremely wobbly head.

Of course she does. She's my favorite one.

However, because she's got sassitude, the head tilt works for her.

Her head is definitely quite top heavy, but so are some of the others and they don't all have issues.

Sasssssss.

Here's Ponder. I adore her, too.

She's also got a bit of head wobble, but not as bad as Neon.

Super adorable. I love her colors.

Agh, the cuteness.

Here's the last one, Sweet Dream.

She's cute, but definitely my least fave. So pink.

I like the lighter bits in her hair.

And how they sculpted her hairstyle.

She's cute. I like her but don't love her.

Here's a quick shot of Neon meeting Bunny and Wolf.

Overall, I think these are still worth the money, even with the quality control flaws. It's pretty bad if your pieces won't stay on your dolls, but $28 is still really cheap for such a detailed BJD. And they're centaurs!

Here we go again.

MATTEL: Hey, come join our cool Monster High fan club! It's only ten bucks and there will be products that are members only, amongst other perks! Look, it's Ghoulia!

"FANS:" MEMBERS ARE GUARANTEED FAN CLUB DOLLS.

MATTEL: No, we said there will be access to fan club exclusives, not that every single club member will get one. We wouldn't promise something that unrealistic.

"FANS:" YOU LIED. YOUR COMPANY IS GREEDY. WAHWAHWAH.

Eeyeah, once again, people never fail to amuse me. There's the group that somehow thought the $9.99 membership INCLUDED the Ghoulia doll. That's a special level of illogical. Now there are the people attacking the company because they somehow got the idea club members were guaranteed this doll. How would that even work, y'all? Come on. They already had a set number in mind for production ages ago. "Access to exclusive items" does not mean a guarantee.

MONTH IN REVIEW: February 2023

I was going to combine February with March, but what the hey, let's just do these brief February arrivals now.

This is a Snoozles plush dragon from Aurora. Love this guy! The purple, gold and pastel multi somehow work well together for me. And he's cutely floppy.

Mr. Twist is a random plush Charlie Bear. That means the colors on the fabric are so varied that each bear looks very different. I wanted one with more red on the face, so I bought 2 from QVC. This one was exactly what I wanted! The second one got sent back. If you want to try out a CB, QVC really is your best option. Returns are so easy.

Mr. Twist is a great bear and quite affordable. I tried out 2 Artful Dodgers, the rabbit in this same plush, but ended up sending both back. I prefer this guy!

Jester bunny Grin was my other purchase from QVC. I like his blue and pink nose. He's just plain cute.

And that's it! My other bearrivals were in March.

REVIEW: Enchantimals Belisse Butterfly & Dart

Y'know, the last Enchantimals review I did, I was definitely going to say it would be my last, but I didn't! And I was right, because here is Belisse Butterfly, fresh from the newest set of the City Tails line.

I imported Belisse via Amazon. She came from the Netherlands but really wasn't that expensive. I love that US Amazon is making it so much easier to import.

I love orange and have so few orange Enchantimals.

She's lovely.

Dart is adorable. I'm not sure how they went from the art, which is a butterfly, to...well, Heimlich here, but what are you gonna do? He's still cute.

Such great colors.

I like that her hair is a bit shorter.

I don't like that they gave her starfish shoes. Why, Mattel? Why?

Love them!

REVIEW: Monster High Stitchlings

I got lucky and found the MH Stitchlings at Target tonight!

These are bigger and more detailed than the previous plush. They cost more at $12.99 each, but they're larger, have multiple materials and embroidered faces, and they each say 4 different things.

Clawdeen from the front.

And back.

Laura front.

I love the bow, but it blocks her face. I wish it was either a little smaller or down lower.

Laura back.

Frankie front.

They're my fave of this set.

Frankie back.

These are a little expensive, but they do have quite a bit of detail and with the talking feature, I can see where the price comes from.

Now where are Cleo and Lagoona?!!

REVIEW: Astra Girls Dryade & Celestina

Thanks to a friend, I FINALLY have the full line of Astra Girls! I hate that dolls this fun are so hard to find! They seem to only be at Macy's Backstage, which isn't in every Macy's store. And my little mall doesn't even have a Macy's to begin with.

These dolls remind me of a lot of the older lines I loved so much: Winx, W.I.T.C.H., Disney Fairies. They definitely have that magical girl vibe to them.

This is Dryade. I was amused by her resemblance to Flora before and I'm still amused now.

I love the color of her wings. It's so pretty.

The skirt part of her dress is awesome with all the different materials in the flower belt, the petal overlay, the tendril-covered green layer, and the vines hanging down.

I like the style of the top part except for the pink bikini top-type piece. It lays a bit crooked and I think it would have looked better with some of the vines crossing over her chest or something. It's not a separate piece so it can't be adjusted.

I love that she has multiple pieces of her hair pulled back.

Celestina was my least favorite, but in person, she's actually amazing. I still love Vamora most, but the other three are all tied.

Celestina and Dryade have a different wing mold than the first two of these I reviewed. I like both shapes and love that they made two molds for such a small, low-priced line.

Her dress is multiple layers. I like that I can push the fur part down to off her shoulders.

The train is totally awesome, but my favorite thing about her is her hair. It's lavender, mint green and white! Definitely way better than she looks on the box photo.

I highly recommend these girls if you can find them. I'd love to see them make more, though I wish they'd pick more stores to put them in!

I love them so much that they kicked a couple other dolls off my precious coffee table space so I can look at them more often.
