NEWS: Hairmazing

Just Play/Xtreme Play's Hairmazing budget line for Walmart is continuing! I'm really happy about this. I love cheaper options.

The first thing we're going to look at is the new Fantasy 7-pack.

This is similar to the first series pack with 7 dolls for $29.97. (Currently on sale for $24.97, though I don't think this set is out yet.)

It's not easy to see in these photos, but these dolls now have body diversity! It's very obvious from the swim line photos, though I couldn't find the group shot of them. I'll keep looking.

I'm pretty sure at least the one with the plum-colored hair is thicker. Maybe I'm wrong and it's just her angles and dress, but I know we've got thicker girls in the swim line.

Box shot.

The blue one.

Long purple hair.

If you go here, you can see a video that shows the dolls better:

https://www.walmart.com/ip/seort/177616338

As before, they're also going to have individual dolls in the little cardboard cone things. This is the only one I could find for the Fantasy line.

I love her. I'm not sure I want the 7-pack because I only really like 2, maybe 3, of them, but I definitely like this girl.

I found this image through Brickseek.

This is the other item currently on Walmart's website, though not available. The listing calls the line "Fashion Forward," although the box just says "fashion doll."

I like this one. She's cute.

These are the others pictured in her listing. The blonde is definitely curvier. The brunette in front looks shorter but I think it's just an illusion because that top makes her look like she has no neck.

I like all of these except the blonde. She's cute but not a definite purchase cute.

Woo, just found the hoodie one!

I'm totally obsessed with this one. I don't know why. I just am.

The swim line is going to be sold separately.

I got this pic and the next one from Brickseek.

Another swim doll. I need to find the group shot!

The mini dolls are back in this awesome rainbow set. I really like this. The display in the box completely misses the point of rainbow, but they've got a lot of colors in there. I'll buy this.

Pic from Brickseek.

And finally, the unicorns are back! I love these because they remind me of that brightly-colored set of G3 ponies. Ah, back in the day.

Again, pic from Brickseek. I'm totally going to be stalking them until they put up more pics and/or link to Walmart for everything.

REVIEW: Fur By the Foot

Ever since first seeing photos of these, I've been itching to get my hands on some. I needed a little retail therapy after a rough work week, so I ordered five of them from Amazon.

They're $20.99 apiece and most of the time, you'll get two plush inside. 1 out of every 4 has three plush inside.

I can't find any sort of code on the packaging and based on the assortments I got, I think these are completely blind, so there's no way of knowing what's inside.

I suppose it would be possible to weigh them and find ones with 3 inside, but there's no telling which 3 they'll be.

The concept of these is the old bubblegum tape containers. You open the side and pull on the fuzzy end to unroll your plushies.

Each plush is attached by an elastic strap and if they have a long tail, there's a slit the tail goes through.

It's designed so you can easily put them back on the "tape" and wind them back up again.

This roll has two plush and at the end, there's the checklist and instructions in a little plastic bag.

So these are my first two.

Ice Lemonade Kitty on the left.

Cotton Candy Bunny on the right.

My second roll had Groovy Grape Poodle and Gumball Print Puppy.

My third roll also had the gumball puppy, this time paired with Spicy Cinnamon Kitty Cat.

The fourth roll had Orange Creamsicle Leopard and Strawberry Mouse.

The fifth roll had the cinnamon cat and the grape poodle, but at the very back was the Pineapple Llama. She's one of the rare ones.

The llama is also the only one I got that has the longer limbs. The others all have shorter arms and legs and long tails (or ears).

Checklist with all the common ones.

And the remaining four commons, plus the two twin sets, the three rares, and the ultra rare.

So out of 11 total plush, I got 8 different ones. Not the greatest odds and there are no codes. They are very cute though and I like them. They look like they should be scented but I think the scents would blend together in the case too much.

I definitely want more because I managed to not get a single one of my favorites! I like the grape poodle and the cinnamon cat, but they weren't even in my top 5 choices. I do like the strawberry mouse a lot and wouldn't have picked him from the checklist as a potential fave. I'll post pics again when I get more. I'm planning a large Amazon order when stuff comes out on Monday.

REVIEW: B*Pack Series 2 Frank E Girl

I was very surprised to see a new B*Pack Series 2 character actually available on Amazon and very pleased that it was Frank E Girl!

I ordered her and she shipped quickly.

My order for the regular Series 2 dolls was cancelled, so as of now, the only Series 2 available are Gal XE, Frank E Girl, and the two $19.99 ones that come with little purses. The purse ones aren't even supposed to be out for another month, but they are orderable.

Her hair was sticking up so I had to give her a conditioning treatment.

I really love her outfit and her little winky face.

If this turns out to be my last B*Pack, at least it's one I really like.

NEWS: Shadow High

I'm seriously making a post just to say someone needs to leak that fairy doll! She looks AMAZING.

You'd really think I would like the vampire best but I might just like the fairy best. I can't tell if she's blue or grayish-blue but either is fine with me. Gorgeous!

NEWS: Rainbow/Shadow High

Time to catch up on discussing leaks without posting pics.

I think everything we've seen has been Shadow High.

First, there was art for two of the SH costume ball dolls. One is a vampire, the other is wearing fur and has an ear headband. Then we got some crappy pics of the dolls. Still no names but I'll offer my thoughts without them.

Pink pointy ears: This one is a light pink doll with curly darker pink hair. She has really neat makeup and I like the hair. She's also got the long fake nails that the Storm twins do. Her outfit sucks though. She's wearing a completely normal pink outfit with fur accents. The only way she has any sort of costume on is that she has a set of black pointy ears on a headband. I've seen people applauding this because of Mean Girls, but they apparently missed the entire point of that joke in the movie, which was that ears aren't costumes at all. Besides, her outfit isn't even skimpy. I actually would have preferred an outfit like what the Plastics wore because then it would actually represent the joke, even if it was a weak ass excuse for a costume in a costume ball line. I think she's a pretty doll but she's definitely weak when it comes to the costume aspect. And people are calling her a werewolf when she looks more like a cat to me. Those ears just do not give me wolf at all. What she reminds me of is the Bratzillaz. Don't get me wrong, I love the Zillaz, but they weren't exactly strong spooky rep. I like her and I will buy her but she's not as special as some people are making her out to be.

Elissalaura: Yeah, I said it. I've seen people try to say that this doll doesn't look like an MH character and "it's not like MH invented vampires" but COME ON. She appears to have light pink skin. The lighting on these leaks is terrible but the art definitely looks the same skintone for both the vampire and pink ears, so I'm assuming she's light pink. She has dark hair in pigtails. Her hair appears purple. She's a vampire. So she's copying the MH light pink vampire thing. She has pigtails like Draculaura but more in Elissabat's color. Seriously, if they weren't going for a comparison, they could have made her literally any other color and ditched the pigtails. As for the doll herself, she's very pretty. I love how they did all her makeup and I always love goth bangs. Her outfit is neat, though a bit simple. I like her a lot but original she isn't.

Then we've got a second new Shadow High line. This one is confusing. It's all new characters but it isn't marked Series 2 and the dolls only come with a single outfit. (And they had damn well better be a LOT cheaper.) The little emblem that says Series 1 or 2 or whatever is a picture of a lock. Are they secret releases? Hmm. I love all these though!

Reina "Glitch" Crowne: Glitch is getting a doll! I need to get off my butt and continue my commentary on the RH show because I am severely behind and I'd love to get to the current stuff. Glitch is awesome though and I was hoping she'd get a doll. The outfit looks great and her face is beautiful. My only complaint is that I'm pretty sure she lost the cool details in her ponytail.

Karla Choupette: A Karl Lagerfeld tribute. I hate Chanel but the doll is stunning. I don't know what the fashion name for the detached pant leg things she has on is but I love them. She's a little bit what if Bella went to SH but in a good way because she's way cooler than Bella.

Dia Mante: I love that name. She appears to be a dark purple with a white outfit and...AT LAST...a white bob haircut! I've been waiting forever for a bob. I'm not big on her outfit which looks very basic compared to Karla's in particular, but she's a neat-looking doll.

The blind box accessory things are out. There's a listing for one of the Series 2 RH Junior High dolls. No idea which character. Release date is August 15th. We'll see if that changes. We'll also see if any of these other release dates change because Amazon has a lot of MGAE product that comes out on the 1st!

NEWS: Itty Bitty Prettys Angel High

I accidentally stumbled across an update on Zuru's product page for Itty Bittys! I never thought we'd see a second series of Angel High, and honestly we may never actually get these in stores or online, but it is good to see them regardless.

Here's the packaging. They're doing color change makeup and hair extensions.

We'll start with the blue-haired space one. Clearly a recolor of Cosmo.

Love her.

Then we've got a Coco-Love recolor.

Cute but Coco is way cuter.

Gotta do this one next. She's my favorite. I love me some red, black and white, and she looks so goofy that she's darling.

Recolor of Pascal. Definite improvement.

Recolor of Zesti-Beat. Also an improvement. Love the hair!

This one is a black and white recolor of Twizzle. LOVE her. I love Twizzle so I'd say they're both equally good.

This one is a recolor of Cara Mello. Not my favorite but neither was Cara.

Unlike the first series, there are seven in this series. This is the last girl.

I don't see little ruffled socks on any other girls. No flower headbands. So I think this is actually a totally new design not used in any series yet. She's super cute.

I would love to see these actually come out, but I'm not very hopeful.

VINTAGE REVIEW: Soma Wunderzoo

In 1985, Soma came out with a line of Wuzzles fakies called Wunderzoo. I don't know anything about these except for what's right here, so I'm not sure if the US ever got them. I would think they would have been called Wonderzoo for us but who knows?

Soma is one of those fabulous 80s companies that did a lot of fakies. My favorite MLP fakies are the little PVC figures made by Soma. They also did a lot of other small PVCs and I think some bigger fakies, too. They did a neat line of Glo Friends fakies that I may start collecting.

I saw one of these on a Facebook collecting group and asked what it was. Then I found four of them on ebay. I asked the Italian seller if they'd combine shipping and they could ship all four for the same cost as one, so it was just a matter of saving up.

I took two photos of the backcard. Why not?

These guys are pretty beat up and the cards weren't in great shape, but they're from 1985. They still look fantastic to me.

Unicorno here is my favorite.

These guys are pretty large. They're a good inch taller than Care Bears poseables and probably Wuzzles ones, too. I don't have any Wuzzles ones to compare and my CB ones are all put away at the moment.

They're flocked and can move at the neck and shoulders.

They have glued on plastic eyes that don't look nearly as horrible in person. They all photographed terribly!

I don't speak Italian so I'm guessing at some of the names here. Unicorno though appears to be a frog unicorn, yet it just means "unicorn."

This is Coccileone.

Leone is obviously lion and a ladybug is a coccinella, so that goes together nicely.

Not sure why they switched to green. His shell is red in the backcard art.

Farfascimmia! This one I knew half of right away. Butterfly is farfalla, which I know from the pasta name. (Sigh.) And scimmia is a monkey.

I love how the art shows him with these huge wings, but he's basically a pink monkey with a butterfly tramp stamp. Hilarious.

Tigrorso. Tiger bear! Tigre + orso.

He just looks like a bear from the front.

And there are the stripes.

This is Pantacavallo. He wasn't in the initial ebay listings, but they found him while getting my other four together and I happily bought him, too.

I have no idea why he's blue. He was yellow in the art.

Leopard is pantera and horse is cavallo.

These two are my favorites.

And here they all are! I'd love to find the elephant turtle someday, but I'm really happy with what I have.
