COLLECTION UPDATE: Azone

I've gotten a couple new Azone dolls recently, so I thought we'd take a quick look at them.

I've always thought Kikipop were cute, but I was stuck on the idea of this girl being my first and it took waiting before one was available. I actually sold one of my mohair Charlie Bears pieces to get the money for her fast enough.

I'm a sucker for the dark brown-themed Azone dolls. I don't know why. I just am.

With the hat she'll never wear again.

She has changeable hands like most Azones.

Adorable! I might get a couple more, but I'm content with only her for now.

This teeny lady is my newest. She's a Sugar Cups Star Sprinkles Chocolala. I intensely regret missing out on the original Chocolala. Intensely! I have a feeling if she ever does appear on ebay, it's going to be for a lot of money.

I didn't do a proper review for this Chocolala. No boxed pics, no outfit details. I wasn't feeling great, so I just opened her.

Like Sunny Bunny, she also has a bunny ear hat, but I left it off. Azones are sometimes like Rainbow High for me. I prefer them a bit simplified.

She also has a gold chocolate bar necklace I left off. It's big!

So when I say she's tiny, I mean it.

Chocolate girls together!

So here we've got a Pure Neemo, Kikipop, Sugar Cups and Li'l Fairy.

Annnnnnd Iris Collect Petit. Azones come in so many sizes!

I feel the Azone bug still, but I'm going on vacation in early December, so I've cut myself off from importing. I did buy my first Ruruko, who is on his way from Canada, but no more Azones until I'm back from vacation. I have my eye on a couple more Little Witches and a second Ruruko (not Azone, but another Asian doll).

REVIEW: Rainbow High Slumber Party Robin Sterling

Poor Robin has been deboxed for days, but waiting for me to finish my work week and get around to doing a full review.

Here are Robin's pieces.

Stand, comb, hangers.

Sleeping bag and pillow.

Full second outfit and her earrings that I removed, knowing she'd go to the salon.

Her first outfit: robe and pjs, sleep mask, necklace, socks and bunny slippers.

I actually took this before the outfit pic.

I really hate RH's obsession with socks. They just don't look cute here and they didn't with Brianna either.

I also don't like how they're sewing the jewelry down. Cutting Robin's necklace loose wasn't fun.

She does have gel in her hair, but it's less than Brianna.

Still, it's salon time!

Fast forward to tonight's photos.

Here's her second outfit. I like the white top, but not for her. It might be nice with someone else's pieces.

I mean, it does look cute here, but I prefer dramatic Robin who looks really elegant and like a lounging rich girl. It's the Tiffany blue. Come on.

I love these. They're adorable.

With the shoes. These don't like to stay on very well, but they're so Robin.

This is pretty, but also a bit too much for me. You know I like to keep it simple.

Sleep mask. Cute, but Brianna's is cuter.

This is what I went with for her final look. While I do love the shorts, I am a sucker for long satiny pants. I used to wear them a lot (in black, minus the furry trim).

While I'm disappointed MGAE caved to Walmart and changed the original metallic design of the line for Robin and Brianna, I must say I adore the Tiffany blue and I'm thrilled Robin exists like this. I do hope to see metallics in the future though. Retailers are such idiots.

Robin is easily one of the most photogenic dolls of the entire line. She's gorgeous in every shot and I'm not exactly a stellar photographer.

I had to take a photo of the three darkest girls of the line so far. Each one stunning.

I hope they do one with brown eyes eventually.

Beautiful!

I've got a review for Vanessa coming up and I really need to finally debox the twins. (I know. It's been ages.) Marisa is on hold for now. I actually ordered her before the other two, but Walmart is not filling my order and I haven't been able to successfully catch her in stock again. I did once, but she sold out while I was paying. Ugh.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Rockstars Carmen Major

Time for another two reviews, though like last time, I can only do the Rockstar review tonight. Robin had to hit the salon, so she'll be up tomorrow. Why in the world did they load the Slumber line with gel and not the Rockstars? Carmen had a little, but nothing I even needed to wash out. The Slumber dolls didn't need it. Sigh.

Carmen's got the basics: stand, comb, hangers, full second outfit.

Her instrument is a guitar, which has a strap that doesn't stay on super well, but a case that is amazing.

The little clasps are so cute and functional. I love it.

Carmen was my initial favorite from the early photos. I'm glad her hair is curlier than I first thought.

I think I'm going to like each of these three girls about equally though. I already love Lyric more than I expected and Carmen here is darling. There's something very sweet about her.

I love her makeup and colors. And the baby hairs! I've seen people bitching about these and no, absolutely not. They belong there. Yes, they should be molded. Yes, they are cultural. Shut up about it.

Now MGAE did Carmen's tall boots just fine. Why did Lyric's come out so bad?

The jacket is the best part of her main outfit. And then the boots, gloves and choker. I'm not a fan of the denim top. The skirt is cute, but I think Stella might get it instead.

I'm not a fan of them sewing on the jewelry. I don't need to strain my eyes that much, thanks.

Now we're getting to the good outfit.

The mesh shirt is a separate piece. It was easy to get on and then put the pink tee over it. I love this tee. Best parody yet. I popped her thumbs through the mesh to make thumb holes.

Which means...

Emi just got some new gloves.

"Heyyyyy, Carmen, who's your friend?"

"This is Emi, Lyric."

Badass girls!

"Okay, this is MY review. Let's get back to it."

Sorry, Carmen.

Anyway, I love this skirt! I like that it's a bit longer.

With the taller boots?

Hmm. Nah. I'll save these for Marisa.

I love her like this. The skirt is luxe, so there's a balance of the more casual top with the fancy skirt and then the little boots.

As much as I love her jacket, it doesn't go with the rest. I'm setting it aside for my future second Emi. I think this will look really cute on her.

Two down, one to go! My 2 Vanessas should arrive soon. Possibly tomorrow. I have my fingers crossed that one will be good.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Slumber Party Brianna Dulce

My original plan was to review Lyric and Brianna on the same day, but the gel in Brianna's hair foiled that.

The Slumber Party dolls are Walmart exclusives. I stalked the site until I was able to get all three, because the prices on the site are way cheaper than they are in store and not every Walmart will price match, not even to their own website. Marisa sadly has not shipped yet and I'm afraid they're going to cancel her.

Back of the box.

Brianna comes with the basics: stand, comb, 2 hangers, complete second outfit. The earrings I pulled off to photograph here.

Her slumber accessories are a cute pillow and sleeping bag.

Straight out of the box. I was really sad to see that she was as loaded with hair gel as the earlier dolls. No Series 3-level silky hair here. Sigh.

Brianna suffers from typical Rainbow High syndrome. She's just got too much going on.

Mine unfortunately has slight warping to her right leg from how she was positioned in the box.

I really hate how they punch holes in the clothes. Both this top and the second outfit top have visible holes right in the chest. There's gotta be a better way to have the clothes in the packaging.

I love the second tee. It's super cute.

Brianna is adorable. I love her makeup and her freckles.

I really wish they hadn't gelled her hair. It was so cute like this and I knew it wasn't going to come back as curly. I'm not good enough with hair to recreate it. But the loose long bang on her right was also frizzy and that needed to be fixed, too.

Annnnnnd all the curl is gone.

She's still cute, but it's not the same.

I'm not sure if all Briannas are like this, but mine also has weird lip paint. It's like the base coat didn't take. There are a lot of spots where I can see her vinyl color. But the top coat covers it for the most part.

So here she is dry. Her right pigtail is a lot fuller than the left. I added the loose piece to it, but that was pretty thin so it didn't add that much hair.

I'm not a big fan of her first top. It's not bad with these pants though. All of this together is cute except for one thing.

I despise ass words. I always have, I always will.

"I'm not like a regular mom. I'm a cool mom."

The jacket is cute.

My Brianna is definitely going to be more casual. Even this robe is too much.

Briefly wearing the earrings.

This is how I like her and how I imagine her roaming the dorm halls.

Her sleep mask is super cute. I should have gotten a pic of it, but I managed not to. Good job, me.

I also love the bear slippers, but I think that goes without saying.

I may consider getting a second Brianna. I want to see her in stores to examine the lips on the others and check if they're like mine. If I do get another, I'm going to keep those curls intact. Or maybe I'll study up on some hair-curling techniques and give it a go.

She's adorable though. I like her way more than I ever expected to when I first saw her. I'm still disappointed we never got a metallic theme. Maybe someday MGAE will have the balls to stand up to the retailers and their lame opinions.
