REVIEW: LOL OMG Trendsetter

Skatepark seems like an OMG I'd like but Trendsetter? Not really. But I do like her.

I do not however like her hat. This is the only time you'll see it.

All the stuff.

All the stuff open.

Her shoes are fab. Love them.

I'm not sure why she has a flip phone. Is she trying to bring them back in style or is she supposed to be dated like her outfit kind of is?

Somehow I do not hate this. I don't know how. I'm not a fan of pastel. I hate tracksuits or whatever you call this thing.

Gah, the gel in the pigtails.

Both these pieces are cute but she seems...bare. Needs more.

There we go. Now let's fix that hair.

Her pigtails weren't too bad. The one that sits up higher was a bit crusty. The bangs were terrible though, just like Skatepark's.

I think this doll's hairstyle and colors are what made me really like her. Pigtails like these always make me think of Musa, even though they're not pointed up like Musa's. And I like these colors with her skintone and those pale blue eyes. She's just a cute doll.

These two together one more time.

And that's it for LOLs for at least a week. I've got CB preorders to pay for!

REVIEW: LOL OMG Skatepark QT

Got a couple quick OMG reviews tonight. I picked up these girls for warehouse prices on Amazon. I plan to do that with some of the movie line eventually, too.

I always liked Skatepark, just not her price tag, so this worked out well.

I do like the cut down on plastic but part of me does miss the hat boxes because they kept the accessories together in one place. Now I have several OMG boxes I've kept because they're nice storage boxes and the accessories are just loose in there. Ah, well.

I will not be showing this miniskirt on her because I don't want to undo her belt. I know I'm keeping her in the jeans and other people have taken pics of her in the skirt, so I'm skipping the hassle.

I love the chain earrings. They remind me of the old 80s charm necklaces.

I'm a sucker for orange so I love her hair and makeup.

This outfit is definitely cute, too.

Backwards hat like the box art.

And here she is after salon time. Her bangs and pigtails were loaded with gel. I hate that MGAE makes these neat-looking curls and then plasters them with gel so you have to wash it out and then the curl is gone.

Still love the chain earrings but I had to use her hat to hold her bangs more away from her ears so the earrings would be visible.

I hate the necklace. The design is fine but it doesn't lay right with her shirt. May end up taking it off but for now, it stays.

With Trendsetter, who's the next review. Or was the first if you're reading my blog backwards.

REVIEW: LOL OMG City Babe

I made the mistake of starting to watch the LO OMG series on Youtube. I swear, I am a major sucker for characters and that leads me to buy dolls I hadn't initially planned on. City Babe didn't exactly do a ton in the episodes but I fell for her just the same and had to add her to my collection. I picked her up for quite a bit under retail in a recent Kohl's order.

Because she's an older doll, I wasn't going to review her, but I like her enough to share her. No boxed photos for that reason so this is a fully deboxed review.

Like the others in the World Travel line, City Babe  comes with a cute suitcase. It can actually fit a ton in it!

Inside, I was able to put a stand clip, her headphones and adorable fuzzy neck pillow (love that), her passport, her barrettes, and the strap off her coat.

Her barrettes are really cute in the art but on the doll, they don't stay in well. Her hair is so straight and silky that they're completely unstable.

City Babe's outfit is a cute light pink top with a very light blue denim skirt. She has a camo jacket with leather sleeves and then high socks worn under ankle boots. It's an all over the place outfit, which is why I didn't initially buy her. I always liked the doll herself but not so much the clothes.

Barrettes.

I love her makeup.

Her earrings are really cute. I like that they actually dangle. I prefer earrings like this that are more realistic than giant static hoops and stuff like that.

Her hair is gorgeous! Really lovely quality.

So shiny.

Couple more cute pics.

Definitely a surprise fave.

One last pic.

As has happened before, I feel the need for more OMGs now. These ladies are super addicting! I love RH and they're more beautiful but I generally stick with what I plan with that line. OMGs I plan to buy far fewer and then end up wanting more and more when I get a good one. Thankfully, Amazon has some nice warehouse deals. I refuse to pay full price for any of them. But I've got my eye on five more ladies that may make their way here eventually.

Delightful Demons!

I backed these darling plush on Kickstarter from creator Creepy Kawaii. I have four other of their designs and love them, though I've got to say these three are my new favorites.

These are 10" tall and limited editions of 300 apiece. If any come available on the website, they'll run $34.99.

This is Ambrose. All the demons are hybrids of animals and "bone demons." Ambrose is very obviously a deer.

Ambrose is the quiet, elegant, reading enthusiast who dispense wise advice when needed.

Amaranth is the feline hybrid and has a bendable bone tail.

She's the generous cook/baker of the group.

I love all three but I am partial to Augustine here. They're a canine hybrid and a trickster and comedian. Laughter is what they enjoy most in the world, which is a sentiment I like.

From the side. Amaranth has her really long tail. Ambrose has a little tuft and Augustine has a fluffy tail. Augustine has embroidered paw pad details that neither of the others do.

I'm not positive any are coming into stock but they might.

REVIEW: Shadow High Shani Onyx

SHANIIIIIIIII. My excitement for her has grown steadily since watching the Shadow High ep a couple more times. She was initially backordered to May but ended up shipping early. She arrived quite early this morning because FedEx is awesome like that. (Nicole and Luna came UPS later in the afternoon.)

Quick shot I took before taking the accessories pic.

Shani is definitely not easy to photograph in front of my "I always meant to change it" black scarf drapery.

Shani comes with a dark stand and comb.

Her main outfit is a ruffled dress in black, white and grays. I didn't like this piece from earlier pics but I do like it in person. There's a belt that's worn over the dress and little black lace socks that go under strappy heels with a faux fur strap over the toes. She has a cute little gemstone bracelet (on the stand) and gorgeous earrings. And of course the big bow.

The second outfit is STUNNING. It's a studded black leather tank loaded with detail and a cute houndstooth mini with leather accents. A cropped ruffly leather jacket goes over it and the matching shoes feature large gemstones.

These are Luna and Shani's stands. Same color.

Body color comparison.

Main dress, no belt, fur heels with no socks.

Main dress, no belt, gem shoes, no socks.

Main dress with belt, gem shoes, no socks.

Closer on her. She is SO beautiful!

Second outfit. GAAAAAAAAAAAHHHHHHHHHH LOVE IT.

This is my fave photo from this review. I adore how she's glowing.

Jacket and jewels back on.

This is simply amazing. So gorgeous. I don't have enough adjectives.

She has deep purple lips and it's such a lovely touch.

Her hair is silky and had zero gel.

The socks are cute but don't look right with the gem shoes. They look cute with the fur shoes though. I was concerned about ripping them putting the shoes on and taking them off, but the shoes were pretty flexible.

Shani's final look.

This doll is spectacular. Simply spectacular. Heather is still my favorite thanks to her personality and look, but Shani I think is the strongest doll of the line. If I had to recommend only one, it would be her. She joined Heather in the place of honor on the end table in the living room where a lot of my favorites are, so I can sit by them every day.

Oh, and you might be wondering where Luna is.

"Shut up, Shani!"

"Heeheehee!"

Luna needs a looooooooot of salon time. She only had a little bit of gel at the ends of her long bangs but the short bangs were all kinds of sticking up. That's one place where we could still use some gel, MGAE. It's easy enough to wash out and then the bangs stay flat. Without having to resort to this! Needless to say, we won't be seeing Luna's review for a few days.

REVIEW: Shadow High Nicole Steel

More Shadow High arrivals! Shani, Nicole and Luna all made it today. Natasha (who will be returned along with Heather) and Ash will arrive tomorrow.

So let's get going. Here's Nicole Steel.

Nicole's stand and comb are darker than Natasha and Heather's. I think Natasha and Heather both have the light, Shani and Luna have the dark, and I bet Ash's will be the same color as Nicole's here.

So Nicole has a lot of clothing pieces. Her main outfit is a sporty tank and matching athletic shorts covered by a heavy long-sleeved jacket/shirt/dress. (I have no idea what piece of clothing this is supposed to be.) She wears high white socks and sporty shoes with this. Her second outfit is a basketball jersey dress with a high-low hem worn under a really thick silver jacket. This goes with shoes I can't really describe. Are these supposed to be boots? Natasha's fabric boots still looks like boots, but these look like stockings with soles.

I just started playing outfit combos with Nicole.

She's a lovely doll with silky hair and a beautiful face and makeup. No gel in her at all.

So here she is just in the jersey dress. I like this more than I expected.

Cute with the sporty shoes. The bizarre heel on them makes me hesitate to call them sneakers.

With the fat jacket. This thing is so thick! It has cute details but the very thickness of it makes her look huge and out of proportion.

Deco on the back.

Jersey dress with the stocking shoes. I love this!

Here's the more athletic outfit. This is really cute and well-made.

With the silver jacket. I was able to get this jacket on over the hands for the earlier pics, but I took them off for these next ones.

I think the silver looks better with the shorts than with the dress.

Stock outfit minus the earrings.

Closer face shot. She's super pretty!

Final look for Nicole. I really like this outfit on her. It's more sleek than the others and she's sporty sexy.
