Another year of collecting!

Well, today's my 43rd birthday and I'm thrilled with my dolly incoming list.

I've got both Freya the fairy and the glorious Halloween LE Elinda coming from Ruby Red Fashion Friends! Elinda is my birthday gift from my mom, so I was pleased that she shipped on my actual birthday. I'll be reviewing both those lovely ladies here.

I also just received AG's World By Us Maritza yesterday and I'm going to order her some outfit pieces soon. I plan on also ordering Evette after seeing her gorgeous owner photos, so I'll likely combine all that into one post. I rearranged my closet shelving last night to make more AG space. I love that when we moved in, there was all this tiered shelving going up three sides of my high-ceilinged closet. So perfect for my larger dolls! I have definitely bought way more AG since they started doing payment plans. I never thought I'd have Felicity, Courtney, 2 World By Us and 2 Truly Mes all within one fairly short period of time.

Target puts the Rainbow High rock line up for sale at 3am EST on October 3rd. I was considering getting them with my Redcard discount but now they also sent me a 5% birthday coupon, so for 10% off, I'll likely grab all three. Still waiting on Walmart to give us a date for the slumber line. (Oh, no, someone found them in a store. I'm not ready!) I always say I'm going to be picky, but RH is too tempting, so yeah, I'll probably end up with all six girls. I'm still in love with Series 3! I should do another post of commentary while watching the show. That was fun and I meant to better keep up with it.

Both of my Mermaid High pre-orders have charged and now say delivery Tuesday! That's exciting. I've been itching to see those in person.

My mom and I went to a doll show last Saturday and that was fun. It always amuses me that I am invariably the youngest collector there. Doll collecting is definitely something that spans all ages, which is why it's so great.

As for this blog, keep those codes coming! Even if I don't have a post for the specific line yet, I can always use the codes. I haven't seen those Unicornitos Series 3 yet or the Bright Fairy Friends mermaids (though I may just grab one off Amazon soon), but I will get posts eventually. I still haven't seen the Care Bears Cutetitos in a store so I can finish my set! If there are any toy lines you'd like to see me talk about, let me know and if I collect it, I can work on a post.

Happy collecting!

COLLECTION OVERVIEW: Wee Wild Things

Mattel produced this adorable line of small dolls in 1987. I collected them a long time ago, so this is my first time putting everything together and taking stock of what I have and what small bits I'm missing. I don't plan on collecting any more because I'm mostly content with what I've got. Though there's one I may upgrade.

I'm going to start with the three deluxe dolls because I happen to have one mint on card.

This is Trish Delish and her Small Fry Cafe.

This is definitely my fave of the three deluxe sets. It's a fast food restaurant inside a hamburger. Come on. Perfection.

My open set appears to only be missing the yellow comb and blue angular sunglasses.

Similarly, we've got Lucy Watussi and her Piece O'Cake birthday party.

This one is complete.

Here's Lucy herself.

There's another one with yellow curly hair in the basic line, but her hair is more chartreuse while Lucy's is yellow.

And finally, we've got Lila Styla and her High-Top Beauty Shop.

This is missing the blue comb and the stand, which would have been the same purpley-pink as the round sunglasses.

I think I have the other pieces.

Now we move on to the basic dolls. These sets came with a doll, sunglasses, stand, comb, and one larger accessory.

This is Kicky Nicky. I love her, but she's still only my fourth fave. There are three even better!

Here's Prancy Nancy and her horse.

Gotta love the Kimber hair color.

Rhoda Soda is the other yellow-haired one I mentioned earlier, but as you can see, her hair is very different from Lucy's. This is Pizzazz-style chartreuse.

I ended up with two Rhodas, though the one on the left is wearing Nancy's ponytail holder.

Her booth is a little beat up. I'd consider upgrading her, but the doll is in nice shape and she's complete.

This is my girl! Rita Bonita is my fave.

She's the only one whose larger accessory is two pieces: a vanity and a chair. (Unless you count Nancy's horse's sunglasses, which I don't.)

Rita's hair is a delightful bright orange. It looks red in some photos, but I assure you that it is gloriously orange, which is why she's my fave.

Ritzy Mitsy predicted Jurassic Park with her dino car. I'm not sure how I have two and neither set had her blue comb. Although actually several sets had blue combs, so who knows which one goes where? I have another doll of her, too, but she's not in good shape.

So yeah, this one is missing a blue comb.

Ruby Doobie and her sailboat.

She's missing a yellow comb.

Suzie Cutie! I think they missed an opportunity here, because Snoozy Suzie also works and actually rhymes.

Suzie is my third fave overall. (So it's Rita, Trish, Suzie and Nicky.) She's the one I would upgrade. She's missing her blue stand and her bed is super sunfaded.

And last but not least, Zany Janey! There's also a big limo playset, but I didn't buy that ever.

Overall, I've got all the main pieces and good condition dolls. I'm only missing a few combs and a couple stands.

This line was adorable and I wish I'd gotten into them when I was a kid. I was the perfect age for them, so I'm not sure how I didn't get one.

COLLECTION UPDATE: Charmin' Farm Friends

I got some new Charmin' Farm Friends PVCs, so I thought it would be a good time for an update.

So here are my PVCs of Ellie May Choppe, the lamb character. I believe I have all of hers now.

Ellie May comes in 2 color variations, which are pink and lavender for both of her costumes. The top ones are genies and the bottom are wearing a cute blue dress. The paint colors and hair colors are the same no matter what color she herself is.

Then we have Annabelle Moo. Like Ellie May, she comes in 2 color variations, but hers are white and lavender.

The top two are the white version of the cheerleader. This one also comes in lavender with a white sweater. As you can see, there are slight paint color variations. The pink is two different shades.

The bottom two are both versions of the tap dancer.

Here is Patty Jo Sqweel.

I wasn't sure if she'd have two color versions, but she does. They're just both different shades of pink. So the top is the two versions of the ice skater and the bottom is the lighter pink majorette with a paint color variation on the purpley bits.

So for these three characters, I believe I have them all except the purple cheerleader Annabelle and the brighter pink majorette Patty Jo.

The fourth character is Hillary Jean Nay, the horse. Her two costumes are a swimsuit and a fancy gown. She's the hardest one to find in any of the Charmin' Farm Friends line, so I don't own any of her PVCs. I've seen pictures of two and both are green, so she likely has a second color version, too. They're on Ghost of the Doll if you want to see them.

If anyone has more info or pictures, please let me know!

SPECULATION: Kitten Catfe...FASHION DOLLS?

While following a link a friend sent me to a Kitten Catfe product on Toywiz, I clicked into the full category and saw some very intriguing "out of stock" listings. (Also, they're showing Series 7 and 8, while Series 6 is still not out. If it's coming. Did the light-up ones do well? Spa is the theme for 7 and 8.)

But check this out:

https://toywiz.com/kitten-catfe-purrista-fashionista-708801-case-of-12-dolls/

Purrista...fashionista?

And then there are three more listings for Purrista Fashionistas and these have individual names listed.

https://toywiz.com/kitten-catfe-purrista-fashionista-isa-lynx-doll/

https://toywiz.com/kitten-catfe-purrista-fashionista-debbie-mcpounce-doll/

https://toywiz.com/kitten-catfe-purrista-fashionista-sophie-siamese-doll/

They've never done a product that was a purrista character and not blind-packed. Sooooooooo...fashionistas plus individual listings with different names?

I think we're getting Catwalk Kitties V2! Heh. Man, I loved those.

Anyway, these ought to be interesting. How tall will they be? Will they go the Catwalk Kitties route and have paws? Rooted hair or rubbery wigs like the regular line? Fabric clothes? (I sure hope so.) Can't wait for more info!

REVIEW: Rainbow High Series 3 Daria Roselyn

Series 3 is so much better than Series 1 and 2. I have a couple faves from each of those (Jade and Sunny, Karma and Stella), but with Series 3, I have 4 strong favorites and then the remaining 2 are also major contenders. They completely knocked it out of the park with these and I don't know how they're going to top them.

Again, we've got original style hangers. I have no idea why some have the new ones and some the old. But I will say this color instantly hit my nostalgia button, because I swear it's the same as Rose Petal's comb.

Right out of the box. Ugh. GEL. So much for Series 3 not having gel. Her front curls are pretty heavy with it.

Oh, and that's the only look you're getting at the white tee under the dress. I hate it.

The embroidered detail on this jacket is phenomenal.

And it's off-center box hair.

Daria hit the salon, which is why her review is several hours later than Georgia's.

Much better. Smooth and silky.

I love that this dress says "magic" all over it instead of "rainbow" or R or H. I'm really getting tired of that. I can't wait to get a second Emi to put her in this.

With the awesome jacket.

I love all of Daria's pieces except the white tee, but this...oh, this. This is my favorite RH outfit yet.

Black. Pinstripes. Ribbon shoulder straps. Embroidered roses and safety pins.

It's almost sheer perfection. I would have made the sleeves a tiny bit wider (had some issues putting it on) and a little bit longer, but other than that, perfection.

Her Briar Beauty shoes.

The cute socks. She and Emi have the best socks.

And this is the outfit mine is staying in. I like the boots with the corp goth-esque outfit.

Unlike every other RH piece, I would actually wear this. Oh, and Emi's black skirt. I'd wear that, too.

Daria is some level of perfection.

A lot of people have said they wish she had brown eyes, but I love the super pale on her. They'd be so piercing if she was human that they'd fit her personality perfectly.

Best RH shoes.

Another fabric purse! They need to do so many more of these. The detail on this!

None of the girls is a purse designer, right? Daphne's jewelry. I think Ainsley was doing accessories, but she's not a doll yet. They need to do a bag designer. And a shoe designer.

Sigh. So gorgeous.

And again, trying to show her eye makeup better.

One final shot.

Yeah, Series 3 is impossible to pick a favorite from. I have four of them. Emi is one of my "purple bad girls" and she's Japanese. Georgia is the most beautiful. Daria has the best outfits. Daphne has the best expression. They're all beautiful and wonderful. And so are Sheryl and Gabriella. I'm very curious to see if RH will ever be able to top this series!

REVIEW: Rainbow High Series 3 Georgia Bloom

Yay, finally have all 6 Series 3 in hand! (Daria is currently in the salon, so her review will likely be tomorrow.)

I have a unique opportunity to show two Georgias at once here. One of them is for my friend for his birthday so I deboxed both girls. (I send his gifts in a large flat rate Priority box, because shipping across the entire continent is ridiculous. So that's why she's deboxed, to fit in with a bunch of other stuff. Explaining because I know there are people reading this who would try to spin it negatively somehow.)

Accessories.

Original style hanger again. Both Georgias have it.

So Georgia has amazing curls that there was no way I was putting conditioner on. She'll have some box hair permanently, but those curls are too lovely to loosen.

My Georgia is on the left. She'll be doing the modelling.

Here she is without the sweater and with the second pair of sneakers worn over the socks. The second pair is translucent so they don't need the socks really.

Here's her hair. I ran a brush lightly through the top part.

And back to the fashion show.

Second outfit pearl top with no shoes. Her socks are really cute.

Both second outfit tops with second pair of shoes.

Full second outfit, no socks.

Fabric purse! Eee! It's about time.

Just the pearl top again.

Oh, and switched to the first sneakers. They definitely look best with the jeans.

Sweater on. Hmm. Nah.

I love Emi to pieces and she's my favorite, but Georgia is second favorite and I think she's easily the most beautiful doll RH has made.

Final look! For now. I can see me switching her back to her stock after a while. I like both outfits.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Series 3 Emi Vanda

I always knew the "orchid" doll was gonna be my girl and then they just kept making her better and better. I'm so happy to have a girl with undeniable Japanese heritage in the line!

My Emi got a little twisted around somehow. Her skirt is open and the back is on the side. But she seemed fine when I deboxed her.

Accessories.

This is the only time you'll see these shoes. I hate these damn shoes with super long ribbon ties. And they're not that cute anyway. What's with the gold R and H heels? Why not something art-themed? Sigh.

Totally forgot her comb in the accessories pic, so here she is with it.

Box hair. Not too bad.

A lot of Emis have staining from her black hoodie and the skirt. You can see faint lines on the upper part of each arm, but most of mine's staining was on her upper left thigh.

I'm used to staining on way more expensive dolls, so this stuff never bothers me.

After the salon. I decided to put her cute socks on for a few pics. I wish I had shoes they'd look good with.

The top is surprisingly nice with the skirt. I wasn't a fan of the top initially, but it's not horrible.

The other hoodie. This thing fit super tight, so I didn't even try putting it over the long-sleeved shirt.

I adore this black skirt! My only wish is that the suspenders could be worn up, too. They're too long.

Both black pieces. I hate that black hoodie. I know the purse is some designer thing, but I hate it. It looks so stupid. This whole piece is just too busy, but the sleeve parts are nice.

Her boots I quick threw on and didn't tie them on. The laces were tied in the front.

I found this old Azone top that's perfect. Now she looks a bit more goth. Emi is another example of the purple "bad girl." Purple and darker pink are often paired with black on the characters that aren't necessarily the villain, but aren't goody-goodies either. Think Raven Queen, Mal from Descendants, Storm E Sky from Lalaloopsy, and Scarlet from Star Darlings.

Easily my favorite RH doll. She's simply perfectly stunning. Of her clothing, I honestly only really like both skirts and the boots, but the doll herself is splendid.

My plan for her was to put her in Daria's main dress, while Daria wears her second outfit, but I think I'm going to keep this Emi dressed like this. She's on her stand, hanging out with Moonlight (the LOL OMG) out in my living room. I'm going to buy a second Emi to wear Daria's dress once I can pick her out in the store. This one needs some fun bracelets, too. I'll have to find some.

I love her. I knew I was going to love her. I think we all knew I was going to love her. I'm predictable sometimes.

While I don't think she's going to be the one I pick as the overall prettiest RH doll ever (that's likely Georgia), I think it's safe to say Emi is going to be my favorite RH for possibly ever.
