OVERVIEW: Koogles

Stormie
In June 2012, I discovered the Koogles while checking Claire's for Monster High stuff. I left empty-handed in that department, but Stormie came home with me that day. I actually had quite a debate over her and Muffin, because Stormie seemed the most obvious choice for me, but I fell for Muffin, too. But Stormie won out and Muffin was bought not too long after, then the other four.

The Koogles are 6" puffballs with four little feet and iridescent wings. They have a pair of antennae in a different shape for each character and stitched mouths and eyes. Stormie is the only one to sport eyebrows and if you get her, don't expect her to look like my picture. She originally had fur all over them and you had to dig for her brows, but I trimmed it to what you see here. She's also the only one with a closed mouth.
Muffin

Each Koogle has a paper tag that opens with art on one side and a little personality blurb on the other.

"Stormie is a very quiet Koogle! Others sometimes think she is cranky because she is so quiet, but she is just thinking. She loves to build things from anything she can find. Often she is found rescuing lost animals or building them new homes." Her favorite color is purple and her special gift is building, specifically building houses for lost animals.

Fireball
"Muffin is a very sweet Koogle! She loves to bake muffins, cakes, pies, tarts, and anything else she can come up with to share with her friends." Her favorite color is "blueberry blue" and her special gift is baking, specifically muffins "of course."

"Fireball is a speedy Koogle! He loves to run and can run extremely fast. Sometimes doing things fast does not mean doing them well. Fireball needs to slow down a little bit and do things a bit better instead of faster." Geez, Fireball, your tag is nagging you. Poor guy. His fave color is red and his special gift is speed.
Berrie

"Berrie is a very happy Koogle! She is extremely outgoing and always has a positive attitude. She loves to lend a helping hand to her friends." Her favorite color is pink and her special gift is gardening, especially growing strawberries.

"Blossom is a springtime Koogle! She has a talent for helping the flowers, trees and bushes to bloom in the spring. She spends most of the winter getting ready to spread her magic in the springtime." Her fave color is "spring green" and her special gift is flower gardening.

Blossom
"Rainbow is an athletic Koogle! She loves ot play games of any kind. Her favorite game is jumping rope -- she can jump really high! If there is nothing to do, Rainbow can make up a game that is fun for everyone." Her favorite color is "all colors" and her special gift is being athletic.

The little antenna may be kind of hard to see in my pics. They get buried under all the fuzz. Stormie's are lightning bolts. Muffin's are muffins. Fireball has flames, Berrie strawberries and Blossom flowers. Rainbow's are little rainbows over a smiling cloud.
Rainbow

The Koogles are a really cute line that I think would have done better with more exposure. I only ever saw them at Claire's. I think maybe their price point held them back a bit, because they were $8.50 each, which was a little steep for a small stuffed toy a few years ago.

There were also smaller clip-ons that I never saw in person, but I just ordered a mixed lot of 5 for $6.95 on Amazon, because I am a sucker and want to put one on my purse. Heh.

If you'd like your own Koogle, there are some great deals on ebay (including a Stormie for only $2.49 right now!) and Amazon.
