NEWS: Monster High Abbey & Clawd

Following up on my earlier post with the teeny pic of Abbey, some people unearthed the full promo pics of both Abbey and Clawd. No source for them, but they're promos, so they'll be the same pics you see on Amazon, Target, Walmart, etc.

Let's talk Ms. Bominable. 

NEAR PERFECTION. She's the doll that seems to have shut the haters up mostly. Easily the closest design to G1 by far. I'll be curious to see how the future of this line goes. Will they try to resemble the show or the older dolls? This doll does not look like Abbey in the show. Not yet anyway. It's possible they'll work some sort of yeti puberty storyline in to make these changes to her show character. 

The doll's face resembles the G1. She's not glittery plastic, but she has a smattering of white "freckles" across her nose and a snowflake under her left eye. The only nitpick I have about her is that I swear in the show her eyes were brown. I don't like that they switched them to purple. Other than that, her face is beautiful and her makeup is flawless. Love the little purple nose! 

The best things are that she got her underbite back, they changed her ears to be pointed, and SHE HAS HORNS. I wonder if the little buns on the show were covering them up. Or like I said, perhaps she'll go through some changes and get the ears and horns in an episode. 

Her hands are large and clawed like they originally were and as they are in the animation.

Her hair seems to be light blue and purple. 

Her outfit translated much better in actual fabrics than on screen. Mine will ditch the fanny pack, of course. We know how I feel about them. And I don't think the fur piece is necessary. She clearly doesn't have issues with the cold. But it doesn't look awful. 

I wish there was a promo with her glasses on. They look opaque, so she can't really wear them on display and look like she does in the show. 

Her accessories are all pretty awesome. The snowflake backpack easily could have been a G1 accessory. The snacks are all cute. My fave has to be the Sno Corpse instead of Sno Caps. Love it. The phone is the only piece that's lackluster for me. I'm not sure what I would have gone with instead, but she has enough snacks so an ice cream phone is a bit of overkill when other characters have amazing phone designs. 

Shiver looks adorable. The bat wing ears are a bit odd, but why not? 

I cannot wait to have Abbey on my coffee table with Cleo and Twyla!

Clawd looks good. I don't know why they didn't give him his goatee. He doesn't look quite right without it. I'll get him, though as with most boy dolls, I'm not super excited for him. I love Rockseena though!
