REVIEW: Rainbow High Fantasy Friends Series 2 Part 3

This has been a long time coming, but I'm finally back with the last part of my look at Series 2 of Fantasy Friends!

I still have yet to see these in stores, so I had to blind order more and then rely on ebay/Mercari for the rest.

So here's Forrest Birch. He's cute, but I think Hunter (Series 1) and Xavier are my favorites from the boys overall.

Speaking of Hunter, this must be his sister Kelly. Seriously, I only just put together that they're both DeFly.

Kelly was kind of dull to me at first, but she's really awesome in person. She's just a little simpler so she's easily overshadowed by the flashier girls.

I do love black and lime green together.

Dragonfly on the headband.

I took a couple pics of Heidi on my postal scale when I first got her. (I'd been weighing the bottle.)

Her wings are awesome.

And here she is with my scarf background from today's pics.

She was another who didn't attract me at first, but in person, she's splendid. I love the details in this line.

And her hair from the side.

Here's Gia Bella.

Not one of my very top faves, but she's close. Cici, Dahlia and Obi Willow are still my top 3, but then comes either Nani or Gia. I'm not sure which yet.

That snake. You can say whatever you want about MGAE and their risqueness, but they're not afraid to do some crazy stuff. I only wish they'd bring this edge to their LOL OMGs all the time. (I still feel like Shadow and Metal Babe were too pinkified.)

So cool.

Gah, Nani is SO CUTE!

Her top was a complete pain to get on, but it was worth the struggle.

Still think they could have been more creative with her name, but I love her anyway.

FROG.

I really hope MGAE considers continuing this line. I kind of doubt they will, because their focus is likely completely off the original Poopsie-themed lines and entirely on Rainbow High. I'm happy we at least got this series out, but I really wish they'd make more! I love these crazy little dolls.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Fantasy Friends Series 2 Part 2

I got epic level lucky today. I never have this kind of luck. So my first Target order or 7 Fantasy Friends yielded 7 different ones, including my favorite and 2 others that became my additional favorites.

My second order was only 4 dolls, but I still got 4 different cap colors. One was yellow, which I knew was a new one. The others were orange, purple and blue.

I got out my postal scale and was continually more and more shocked as I weighed each one and realized...I had no doubles. They were all new characters. Now I only need 5 more!

This is Dorothy Petal. She wasn't on my radar at all, but she is super duper cute. I can't get over her adorableness.

It really is those stupid pacifiers. They cover up the lip colors.

So cute!

Then we've got Kacey Sunflower.

Cute, but not a fave.

This is Maggie Nolia.

The doll herself is absolutely lovely. I even like the light lip on her.

Definitely digging the hair.

It's her outfit that's boring. The top doesn't fit quite right. And it needed a pop of color, even if it was more yellow or green like her hair flowers.

She's still gorgeous though. That's some of the best hair in the line.

And finally, Xavier Scarab.

I'm happy they did an Egyptian doll and he's the cutest boy, I think, but I'm not happy he's blond. Any shade of brown would have been better if they didn't want to use black. Even red. Seth had red hair.

He's adorable though. I'm pretending he's there during the Roman times or something. Someone somewhere mentioned he looked like some cartoon character or another, but that does not satisfy my not-so-inner Egyptologist.

Only 5 more to go!

REVIEW: Rainbow High Fantasy Friends Series 2 Part 1

So now that I've made the post with the cheats (it's the one before this if you stumble on this one first), I can focus on pictures of the dolls themselves.

Here's Alexia Cacti.

Mine has a little head tilt. A lot of these have minor issues from being shoved in the packaging too tightly and at the wrong angles, I think.

Her outfit is a little boring, even though it's prickly.

The butterfly got a little squished in the package, too.

And from the back.

Birdie Paradise was the first one I opened. I wasn't wowed until I took her pacifier out. Then I saw how cute she was.

I love the coloring and finish on her hair.

Her wings are cute, too.

Blu Delphine! She was one I really wanted.

She's very top heavy. I've heard the hydrangea girl is the heaviest of the ones that have blue caps. She must be super heavy to outweigh Blu.

Her outfit is simple in color, but the designs make it better.

The back of her head is a little caved in, poor thing. Good thing it's hidden when she's on display.

Fiona is the only one in Series 2 that just isn't up to par. I'm not sure why they reused a mold from Series 1 when none of the others are.

She's the same as Mia Monarch, but Mia is way cuter.

I wish they'd done a lot different colors on her. Like really dark skin with a blue butterfly theme.

From the back.

Cici is STUNNING. I knew I'd like her, but I totally LOVE her.

Dahlia was helping hold her up.

The outfit is simple but cute.

LOVE the hair deco.

That milky-white pink is probably my favorite shade of pink on toys. There's just something about it that's lovely to me.

Trying to get her hair bits from all the angles.

Since you saw Dahlia helping Cici, we may as well look at her next.

Dahlia was my favorite design before holding the actual dolls. She's still my favorite...but now there are two others tied with her.

That's a terrible picture, but my battery died right after this.

I've always been a sucker for white hair, and red, black and white is one of my favorite color combos, but the main reason I adore Dahlia Noir is that she's a direct reference to the Black Dahlia. Can you think of another toy in a children's line (that isn't monster-centric) that represents a murder victim? AND her outfit motif? Skeletal. The white color may even be in reference to the body being drained of blood. She's still a pretty if slightly creepy doll so she's plenty fine for kids, but this particular one was definitely aimed at adults.

I wasn't that excited for Obi Willow. The design is pretty, but her first name annoyed me. It still does, even though I find myself saying it a lot now instead of calling her Willow.

The other girls in this line are like Gia, Cici, Dahlia, Fiona, Kelly, Heidi. Totally normal names. Even Blu and Birdie, the two most unusual names, are fine.

So what's this girl's name?

Sash.

Poor thing.

She really is beautiful though.

The delicate pointed ears.

The adorable hairstyle.

The pale skintone in contrast with the dark outfit and bright hair.

And that gorgeous spray of flowers.

She's stunning.

My three favorite girls!

I have four more coming, so I'm hoping for some new ones. At least one red cap would be nice.

CHEAT: Rainbow High Fantasy Friends Series 2

I'm going to delete the original version of this post and make this one with entirely my own photos the one I edit with updates.

I got my first order of Fantasy Friends Series 2 from Target.com today. They did ship the correct dolls. I know some people were worried about that.

I got incredibly lucky, because whoever put together my order was very thoughtful. They gave me seven DIFFERENT cap colors. The only two I didn't get were red and yellow, but with the dolls I did get, I was able to figure out the cap color for every character.

I'm not going to talk about the dolls here. That's a different post with different pics. These are pics for reference as to what they come with.

I did not photograph each doll with every piece, but they come with a bottle, a plastic scooper, a plastic pouch, 2 or 3 little packets depending on your doll's rarity, an instruction sheet, and a checklist.

This is Cici Shadow. Her cap is the lightest pink. No other characters have that color.

Obi Willow has the brightest pink cap. No other characters have that color.

And this is Fiona Flutters. Her cap is the most purpley-pink. No other characters have this color.

Here is a photo of the dolls with their caps for reference. The difference between Fiona's and Obi's is obvious if you have both in hand. If you only come across one in a store, I'm not sure how clear it's going to be. Obi's cap photographs more pink than it looked to me in natural light.

This is Kacey Sunflower. She is the only character with the yellow cap, but if you see them in stores, you may see more than one, because she comes in both different cases.

All of the yellows are Kacey though, so you need only buy one.

Birdie Paradise is pictured with most of the accessories these come with. I managed to leave out the checkist.

Birdie is one of two characters that have an orange cap. Her weight was 392 grams.

Dorothy Petal is the other orange cap character.

She weighed 376 grams, so there is a decent difference between the two.

Alexia Cacti has a green cap. There are two other characters with green, but if you have 2 cases, there will be 4 green caps total. Two of them are Forrest Birch.

Alexia weighed 386 grams.

Forrest Birch is one of the two most common dolls. He is found in both cases as one of the green cap bottles.

Forrest is fairly light at 368 grams.

I had to order Kelly from ebay, but she did come with her bottle. The only thing missing was the plastic outer wrap. I weighed her and she was 370 grams, so the fully-wrapped doll should be similar.

So Kelly is the 3rd green cap doll and should be around 370 grams.

Blu Delphine is one of three characters with a blue cap.

She weighed 414 grams.

I had heard Heidi Drangea was the heaviest blue cap, but my Blu was 2 grams heavier.

Heidi weighed 412 grams.

Xavier Scarab also has a blue cap.

He's by far the lightest at 362 grams.

Dahlia Noir had a purple cap.

She weighed 398 grams.

Maggie Nolia is the second with a purple cap.

She weighed 382 grams, so there's a slight difference.

I failed at getting any red cap dolls through my online ordering, so I ended up ordering both on ebay. Gia arrived, but without her bottle so I have no weight for her.

Thankfully a fellow collector contributed her weight: 402 grams.

We have the final cheat finally available!

I got Nani from ebay and she was in her bottle. Her weight was 388 grams.

So the 2 different cases combined are:

-1 hot pink (Obi Willow)

-1 light pink (Cici Shadow)

-1 purple pink (Fiona Flutters)

-2 yellow (both Kacey Sunflower)

-4 green (Alexia Cacti 386 grams, Kelly Defly 370 grams, and then 2 are Forrest Birch 368 grams. )

-3 blue (Xavier Scarab 362 grams, Heidi Drangea 412 grams and Blu Delphine 414 grams)

-2 red (Gia Bella 402 grams and Nani Aloha 388 grams)

-2 orange (Dorothy Petal 376 grams and Birdie Paradise 392 grams)

-2 purple (Maggie Nolia 382 grams and Dahlia Noir 398 grams)
