REVIEW: B-Kind Brianna

Success with Brianna! I had 4 to choose from at Walmart and brought this one home.

I thought she'd be my least favorite, but she's grown on me a lot over the few days of looking at her and not being able to open her, so it was nice to finally get a good one to open. 

Brianna is into the environment. 

Her birthday is 2 days before my mom's. She was amused by this. 

Brianna comes with A LOT. Definitely the most of any of the girls. 

She's got the basics: instructions, inspirational note to herself, pillow pet, brush, purse with stencil and 2 fabrics. 

Then there's her project: painting that basic white top and skirt. Aside from the clothing pieces, she comes with a stencil for said painting, a paintbrush, a paint palette, plus some fabric stickers for additional artistic options. 

On top of that, there are two ribbons and a paper outfit pattern that you can trace onto other fabric scraps and make more outfits! 

I was worried about the paint palette so I threw it out. I have no intention of painting the outfit, so I'm not keeping paints on a paper with my doll accessories.

How to instructions. 

I paused to decorate the purse for Ivy. So this is a gift from Koral and Brianna. 

Brianna is pretty cute. I did take her hair down briefly, thinking I wanted it loose, but it is definitely rooted to be in pigtails, so back in they went. 

I cut the ribbons in half because they were so long. I used one of each color as hair ties for her pigtails. 

I love her cute buns and barrettes. 

Unlike Daisy, Brianna has no gel in her hair. The ends of her buns are held down by her pigtail ties, so they must not have thought it was necessary. That makes Daisy the only one of these five dolls that has hair gel.

She easily has the best earrings of the bunch. Not only are they adorable, I love the contrast of the green with all the blonde and pink. 

Her shoes are cute, but have the same problem as Ivy's in that they're a bit too big.

She's very cute, just like the other four! I really hope to see more from this line. They've done very well so far.

REVIEW: B-Kind Koral

Koral is here! I was wondering if she'd make it, since she took so long to ship. I've been praying to the dolly gods that she arrived flawless, since going out and buying a new one would be more difficult. (I'm hoping to go get a new Brianna tomorrow night after work.) 

Koral is into the ocean.

She comes with the usual: pillow pet, brush, instruction booklet, inspirational note to herself, purse stencil and fabrics. 

Her project is making and designing reusable bags, so she has two of those, plus fabric stickers and flowers.

 

Instructions. 

While deboxing, I pulled up some of the fabric sticker sheet, so I decided to actually make the project this time. 

There are 4 cords and you just stick each end through the holes on the sides of the bags and a tie a knot inside. I put the neutral cords with the blue bag and the pink with the heart. 

I decorated the blue bag for Koral, so it's got a whale and a jellyfish on one side. The jellyfish has "Don't be jelly" written above it. Adorable. 

The other side says "Skip a straw. Save the turtles." 

And here's Koral! 

She's sooooooooo cute. I expected Daisy to be my second fave, but she was bumped out of the spot by Ivy. But now Koral is a hardcore contender. I'm going to say she and Ivy are in a tie for second fave. 

  

Her earrings are an upside down shell with a tassel dangling down, which gives the impression of a jellyfish. 

My Koral is a bit of a mystery. (And seems to be smug about it.)

In the promo pics, her left earring is blue and her right is either pink or lavender. The color looks different in the various photos and videos. But either way, her earrings are supposed to be mismatched and mine aren't. The mold is even the same on both, which makes me think this is an error and not a last-minute design change. I honestly like that they match and that they face different directions. It gives a better illusion of moving tassels. 

I love Koral's hairstyle. She has six long twists, but two are partially pulled up into buns. The ends of each of these two are tied to the top of another two. 

Koral's hair is a pretty blend of browns and there's no gel in it. her curly bangs are the only place she has light blue streaks. 

Cute shoes featuring shooting stars and shell toes. 

The shell toes do look a little like paws from the front. 

I forgot to debox her purse before I did the accessories photo, so here it is. Best purse by far. Love the shell and dolphin on the handle and the scalloped edges.

Got her purse and her reusable shopping bag! Ready to go. 

I want to decorate the heart bag for Ivy, because she doesn't have a purse. But the cutest fabric stickers seem to be with Brianna, so I have to wait until I get her first. 

One more shot. I love this girl way more than I expected to. She's a delight.

REVIEW: B-Kind Daisy

I need to get to bed, so I'll keep this brief and mostly pics. 

Daisy arrived from Walmart today. I do have Brianna in hand, but I'm not happy with her lips, so I need to go buy a better one before I review her. Koral shipped today and FedEx is saying she'll come tomorrow, but we'll see.

She shares a birthday with one of my bestest friends. 

She has the pillow pet, brush, purse and decorating tools, inspirational message to herself, and instructions the same as the other girls. 

Her project is making little bean bags, so there's fabric for two of those, sewing supplies, and stuffing. The big bag of stuffing is not visible from the outside of her box. You have to look inside behind where the doll is. 

I thought for sure she'd be my second favorite, but I honestly really love Ivy. So I'm torn. Let's say they're tied. 

I love her overalls and the adorable blouse. 

Her earrings are super cute and the little barrette by the bun is a nice touch. 

Her hair is a lovely darker red with purple streaks. 

Now unlike Ivy and Nora, Daisy does use a bit of hair gel, but it isn't where you'd think. It's not on the buns. It's on the bit of hair sticking out from the ends of the buns. It also got onto the loose part of her hair that's right beneath the gelled hair ends, which makes sense. That brushed out easily. For the most part, her hair is just as lovely and gel-free as the other two. 

 

Best shoes so far. Hands down. By a lot. I love those heels!

She's very cute. 

With her purse. I like that hers isn't as matchy as the others'. 

Daisy does have light freckles, though I'm not sure they show well in any of my photos. 

So another adorable B-Kind girl! I'm glad I caved and bought all of these. Definitely a fan of this line.

REVIEW: B-Kind Nora & Ivy

Walmart took my order of all 5 B-Kind dolls and split it up into multiple shipments...and then of course, several showed up at the Walmart by work. So these reviews will be spread out as the dolls arrive. 

B-Kind are the environmentally-friendly line I talked about not too long ago. They were discovered in leaks and people thought they were some MGAE line, but they turned out to be these cute dolls made by Jada Toys. 

They cost $29.97 each. 

They are in fully open packaging, so watch for paint flaws. I haven't seen any yet, but open dolls can get damaged more easily. I'm not sure why exactly plastic across the front would have been so not green when they used like a thousand plastic tabs to hold all the accessories down. I feel like those could have been held up with cardboard and then the plastic could have been across the front of the box. 

She almost has my birthday. Heh, almost but not quite. Nothing ever has September 30th. It's super rare.

I'm going to go over all the stuff she comes with before getting to the doll herself.

So she has a hat, brush, purse, pillow pet, a little motivational note to herself, fabric stickers, and the pieces to make hair extensions and decorate the purse. 

The purse is actually a really cute idea. I think they all have this because Ivy does, too. There's a stencil and you use that on the fabric, then insert the fabric piece over the front of the purse. You can see where the lines are on the front of it. There's a piece that's like a frame that comes off and then snaps back on over the fabric. It's also nice because kids could do this over and over using other fabric bits. 

There's an instruction pamphlet that tells how to do everything. 

This side has how to do the hair extension and purse. 

And this one covers the kindness board background and reusing the box handle, as well as some other green tips. 

There's the kindness board thing. Cute for kids, but I recycled it. 

I love the eco-friendliness of these and the activities for the target market. They're really cute ideas and they seem easy enough for even younger ages to do. 

So let's finally get a look at Nora!

She is BIG. 12.25"! You get a lot of doll for your $30. 

I usually save the height comparisons for later, but I think you guys need to understand the scale of her now. 

Look how she dwarfs Karma!!! Rainbow High isn't a small doll line, but Nora makes Karma look teeny. 

She's about as big as a Shibajuku, but with a smaller head and thicker body. 

She has little flower earrings that are easy to take off and put back in. No worrying about breakage. 

Poseability is quite nice. She feels sturdy, which I like. Definitely a good doll for even younger ages. 

Her outfit is simple but good quality. I love the material on the skirt and its rainbow stripe. All the pieces were easy to remove and put back on. 

Her hands do not come off. I gave one an experimental tug and it didn't budge. I never try to force them. I'm pretty sure they're not meant to be removable though. 

I love her shoe mold. Very cute. Happy faces on the front, flowers on the side, and flowers along with treads on the soles.

Here's a look at the body. 

Earrings again. 

I really love the long swoopy nose on these girls. They have unusual, very stylized faces that may not be for everyone, but I think they're adorable. 

Her hair is lovely. Silky smooth texture. Excellent quality. And guess what? NOT A DROP OF GEL IN IT. Hear that, MGAE? No gel. This line is proof that you don't need gel to keep a doll's hair in the box. It is held back with several rubberbands, but those kinks can be worked out with a quick condition. I don't mind the slightly crimpy look anyway. 

Let's move on to Ivy. 

I didn't think she'd be a favorite, but quickly realized she's basically Flora from Winx Club. Similar skintone, similar hair colors, similar eye color. She even has a pink cat like Flora! Ha. 

I am not complaining about any of that, mind you. It's a compliment.

Ivy has friendship bracelets, as well as the purse deco thing. 

Ugh, these crossbody fanny packs need to die though.

Here she is. Very cute. I like her dress and the tiny scrunchie. 

I like the design of the shoes, but they don't stay on very well. They're a teeny bit too big. 

Three heart earrings! Now that's some Maxie nostalgia right there. Ah, Maxie. 

She's lovely and also has excellent hair. Hair snobs will not be able to say a word about the quality. The only criticism they could do would be that it's too thin, but even that's a bit of a stretch. It's thin, but it's not terrible.  

I am definitely a fan of this line. These girls are beautiful, cutely dressed, have lovely color schemes, great hair, great poseability, and excellent messages and other perks for the target market. I'm looking forward to getting the other three! I'm cutting back a lot of my doll-collecting and trying to buy only the ones I really love, not overspend to import, etc. but I have zero regrets about buying all 5 of these.
