REVIEW: LOL OMG Queens Sways

I pre-ordered my LOL OMG Queens from Amazon and they came today. They cost $29.99, which I think is fair, considering they come with a ton and every single piece is detailed. Also, THAT HAIR. It can't be cheap compared to other dolls with less hair and also less detailed hair.

Sways comes with a stand with 2 different-sized clips, a brush, a paper invitation and a paper...poster?, one garment bag, and three accessory pouches.

On one hand, I miss the cute shoe boxes and hat boxes. On the other hand, this is less plastic, which is probably good.

I'd like to pause a moment and give praise for the boxes. The inner tray pulls out easily and then you've got a large open tray and a sturdy plastic sleeve that covers it. Instant storage box.

Gah, she is so gorgeous. This makeup is outstanding.

She comes wearing her overdress, socks, her two under pieces, earrings, and her...forehead...thingy. I don't know what to call that but it is awesome.

This is what she has on underneath. Look at that chain detail!

The shoes were in the shoe pouch. Obviously.

Another accessory pouch has the bracelet stack, sunglasses and choker.

The third pouch has her belt with tiny purse. Are we considering this a fanny pack? I'm not sure. Like a luxe fanny pack.

It hurt to type that. It did.

Anyway, I refuse to put this on her. Not only do I have my massive hatred of fanny packs, but it would totally ruin the lines of her dress.

The garment bag contained her fuzzy black coat. This piece is so soft!

I love this coat. It's one of the softest doll coats I've ever  owned. But it messes with the sleekness of her look, so I can't leave it on.

Final look for Sways. Leaving off the coat, sunglasses and belt.

She has a load of detail and she's super gorgeous. I love her. OMG peaked with Moonlight for me. I can't imagine loving any of them more than her. So I'm far more picky about which ones I buy now, but Sways is the perfect addition to my collection.

MONTH IN REVIEW: December 2021, January & February 2022

Man, I totally got behind on my Month in Review posts! Whoops.

So we've got December, January and February to whip through. There's actually not that much. Most of what I've gotten has been reviewed.

Taffy here I imported from the UK in December. Actually bought him and Ambassador while I was in the hotel on my way back from vacation. Taffy is a gorgeous Secret Collection bear that hasn't come to the US yet, so I'm glad I imported.

This big fella is another Secret Collection that hasn't made it to the US yet.

I also ordered Dreamy while I was on vacation. He was one of the Cuddle Time bears on the show that aired the very day I was driving the first leg of the way down to Florida. He wasn't really on my radar, but I ordered the Turret pin so I grabbed him along with it, and I'm really glad I did. Dreamy is one of my sleeper hits of 2021. He's tyber, so he's incredibly soft, but he's also a bit bigger than Bambino and Moppet, but smaller than Dimples. He's almost this perfect size for cuddling and I've used him for comfort many times since he arrived. I'm thrilled they're releasing three more similar bears in this year's collection.

Lukasz is another Secret Collection. I snared him on CB Direct, but stockists are getting him in right now, so he's finally officially in the US.

I love that name.

And another Secret Collection. I got her along with Lukasz.

So those were my December bears.

January finally brought a delivery to our poor US stockists. I ended up with this grumpy Misty. If there is a grumpy option or a wide-eyed option, those tend to be the faces I gravitate towards.

Like my Rockpile who is so over absolutely everything and you're gonna have to hear all about it.

This is the Kaleidoscope I picked out from my stockist. I do like the one I got from CB Direct UK, but I love this one.

And here's Kermode, the fourth arrival from this shipment. He's an adorable chonk.

I found this beautiful, practically new condition Hugga Bunch at the antique mall. I used to have a few of these, but sold them all. I have Hugsy's huglet, one of the Taco Bell ones, and the vinyl doll of this same character. That's all that's left of my original collection. I'm deliberately not saying this girl's name. It did not age well, though it was never a good name to begin with. I've decided to rename her Dolores, because she reminds me of Dolores from Encanto.

I grabbed Donald from QVC and was not disappointed. I like to use QVC for those bears I'm not totally sure I'm going to love.

I bought this stunning Steiff gorilla (right) from Amazon after seeing him advertised on Facebook. He's pictured here with Congo (left) from the CB Bearhouse line.

I only have one other Steiff, a toucan I bought in Germany way back in 1995.

I actually also bought a quokka after this, but I never photographed him.

My Darlin' Dinos bendable collection has expanded to three. I think this is one of each character. I don't know much about these, but Ghost of the Doll has pictures of the blue one in both pink and dark purple, so likely the other two also have multiple color variants.

That's all for January.

I got this bootleg Turning Red plush off Amazon and I love it.

Sprout I've actually had since December, but only recently did he take his place with the other bears and get photographed. I had to do some cleaning work on him because he had cat smell on his back. This is the second time I've had to do this, though not nearly as extensively as the first time. I just run him through the washer and then let him sit wrapped in dryer sheets for months.

I beg people to tell when they have cats. Some of them are so damn nose blind. Clean your freakin' litter boxes, people. Come on.

And February's last arrival was Patience, who tried mine. Or rather, USPS did. She kept getting scanned in Greenville from Thursday through yesterday before finally arriving yesterday.

Patience is an older bear from 2015 that I got a nice ebay deal on. She's one I've wanted for years but been very picky about, so it's nice she's finally here.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Junior High Poppy

I originally thought Poppy wasn't in Target yesterday, but then I caught sight of orange on the bottom shelf and there was one lone doll. I'm thankful she was good. Of the two Jades I had to pick from, only one had good white lip lines and Poppy's are even more obvious than hers. One of the Rubys had very messed up lip paint. Overall though, I haven't seen a ton of flaws with these. You just have to make sure the white lip highlights are in the right spot.

Poppy doesn't have one of my favorite backpacks, but the detail level is still amazing.

Like Jade, Poppy is post-salon. The two shorter pieces on either side of her face had so much gel in them that they felt like solid pieces of thick plastic. I had to work really hard to get it all out, possibly the most effort I've ever put into getting gel out of one lock of hair. The two side locks were the worst, but she did have gel in the two pulled back parts, too. Just not as much.

I love the partial braids. It's a very cute hairstyle.

Her hair is rather thin at the back. When it was wet, you could very easily see her scalp. Now it's better but definitely still thin.

Adorable bows!

Poppy's flowy peach shirt is separate from the orange top underneath.

Her boots are so cute! They were a bit hard to take off and put back on though.

I realized that I never showed the body on these, so here it is.

They don't have much neck, which is why Ruby looks a bit off to me.

There's no way I'm covering the cute top straps with the backpack straps, so she's holding it by the small strap over her wrist.

With future Poppy.

Honestly, I really love these younger versions. I might...like them better than the older ones!

Can't wait to meet Sunny tomorrow.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Junior High Jade

Target got more Junior High girls in! They had 3 Ruby, 2 Jade, 1 Poppy, and 5 or 6 Skyler. I got the only Poppy and left only one Jade behind. Violet was all sold out, so I'm glad I got her the last time and I'm really glad they're doing well.

Skyler is definitely the least cute of the set. I think it's something about her hairstyle. Ruby is similar. They both have their hair completely pulled away from their faces. They needed some little wisps or something like Jade and Poppy have. I am rather in love with these though. Way more than I thought I'd be. So we'll see how long I last before I cave and go back for them. I have Sunny arriving hopefully tomorrow from Amazon.

Jade has the best backpack of the line. Lookit that teeny gray rainbow!

Both girls hit the salon last night, so they're already gel-free. Jade only had a little bit in the lower part of her bob.

Jade's pants have pockets both in front and on back, and she can put her thumbs in both. I'm always a fan of the thumb tucked into pocket pose.

SO FREAKIN' CUTE. I'm so happy they brought the bandaid back.

"Why am I posing like this?"

To show off the socks, Jade.

Her little undies are adorable and the socks are cute, too.

Pants from the back. And her bandaged nose in profile.

I loved Violet's backpack worn properly, but Jade's doesn't work that way.

I like hers slung off to one side more.

Another angle on that.

I gotta say, I love young Jade more. The shorter hair gives her so much sass.

SASS BOMB.

QUICK LOOK: Mermaze Mermaidz Harmonique

Walmart delivered Harmonique today. I'm still amused she's out so early, going completely against what they said.

However, this line is going to suck for people who have to order online, because eye wonk is going to be extremely common.

Her irises are actually even but they put one eye in upside down, so the pupils are uneven. We're going to see a lot of this.

So I ordered a second one and I'll return this one when I get that second in hand. Unless someone wants to buy this one, but take a good look at those eyes before you tell me you want her.

She does have some very nice details. I love the sculpted rings. But if the second one is also wonky, I'll return them both and just wait until they hit stores. Then I'll see which, if any, of these I actually really want.

I've seen some people defending this idiotic packaging, but you can't tell me damage won't occur to those tails. They're going to be touched, they're going to be dropped, they're going to get paint damaged if not full-on broken. It's incredibly stupid.

Anyway, there's wonky Harmonique. Pretty cool, but pretty flawed.
