I was always kicking myself for skipping Reel Drama the first time around, so I was happy to pick up Laura and Lagoona this time. (I don't plan on getting Frankie or Clawdeen.) I did also get Cleo, but I'm not happy with mine from Amazon, so I have another one coming.
I picked Laura because she was the one I liked the most from owner pics of the originals. And Lagoona because she was my very first MH the first time.
I'm going to start with Lagoona because I took fewer pics.
They come with a larger poster, a smaller doll-sized version, and their pet. Though Neptuna seems a bit lost without her aquarium purse.
True, no one else got their purse, but their pets don't need water to breathe.
I made the grievous error of brushing her once I deboxed her.
Do not do that.
Her hair poofed twice as large. I fixed it with a quick condition and let her hair dry, so she looks great now.
I'm not 100% on her, mostly because mine has a permanently up tilted head.
She's pretty and I'm glad I got her, but she's zero comparison to Laura.
Lagoona does have the superior art though.

Augh, I love her. I'm not even a huge Laura fan. I think she's one of the most overused characters in every MH line ever. But when they get her right, they get her RIGHT.
There's something about her that works really well with the black and white and pops of pink.
And the longer hair. I think she pulls it off best.
I do wish they'd left her necklace alone. I loved her original necklace. I get the black and white scheme, but I also think it would have made a nice extra hint of pink.
Perfection.
I hope I'm more satisfied with my next Cleo. I hate that she's not supposed to be here until the 10th at the earliest. I'm not sure I'll find one to satisfy me, since none of them look like the promos, but I want to see at least one more in person before choosing one to open. But there's a very good possibility that Laura will remain my fave from this line.
