REVIEW: Hello Kitty and Friends MY MELODY

Got my hands on My Melody at last. I love that she was in stock on Amazon, but they weren't shipping my order because it wasn't near the estimated date yet. Cancelled that and made a new order!

Cute!

I like the color palette.

There's never much to say about these girls aside from that they're cute. And I hope the line continues with male characters.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty and Friends HELLO KITTY

I loved Kuromi so much that I had to get Kitty, too.

While I don't love her nearly as much, she is very cute and I like her colors a lot. I always appreciate red.

Love her eyes!

My Melody is ordered but it says she won't be out til December. Bah.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty and Friends KUROMI

I could not resist trying one of these out.

At $25.99, they're a bit expensive.

But boy, is she cute!

I pretty much fell in love as soon as I started posing her.

Love the eyes. I almost got Hello Kitty right away because her eyes look really pretty, but I opted to wait and make sure I liked the style first. (I do. I'll be ordering her on Tuesday, alongside some new book releases.)

I'd like to show the body, but I also didn't want to fuss with taking everything off. Maybe I will with Kitty.

She's nicely articulated. Very sturdy.

The top and skirt are one piece, but they're kinda layered so they give the impression of being separates.

She can sit. A little top-heavy but it's possible.

Her tail.

I figured a G1 MH would be well-known enough to stand her next to so everyone can get an idea of her scale.

I am not huge into Hello Kitty, but I absolutely love this doll. I'll definitely be getting Kitty and My Melody (whenever she shows up).

A little overpriced? Yeah. But still adorable. And what isn't overpriced these days? Not much.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty & Friends Cloudine and Cinnamoroll

Amazon shipped this doll in a very thin padded envelope, so of course the box was smashed to hell when I got it. Thankfully, the doll wasn't damaged.

I've had a pre-order for this girl since early February and so far, she's the only one of that batch of June 1st pre-orders that has shipped. She's currently out of stock on Amazon, so I'm not sure how available she'll end up being.

She's the only newbie on the back. Shame, because I've been hoping this line would get to Chococat.

I think she's adorable. She's my favorite after Jazzlyn.

I know older collectors typically don't pay attention to lines without articulation and all the fashion hoopla, but I love a basic doll, too. These faces are so adorable!

Cinnamoroll is the cutest of the character figures by far. Makes me want a plush of him. I don't have much Sanrio stuff, so I think I'll look into that.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty & Friends Dashleen & Keroppi

And finally, the last of the four.

This girl was originally called Gymberly, which I love, but I also love Dashleen. They're both just so ridiculous that they work.

She's at a slight angle to keep her hat on. I meant to leave it attached, but that didn't happen. So know that it doesn't stay on especially well without the plastic tab attachments.

Keroppi is so cute!

Here she is without the hat. I love her random green eyebrows.

She's my second fave after Jazzlyn, but then that's not really surprising as Badtz-Maru is my favorite and Keroppi is probably third fave after Chococat.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty & Friends Éclair/Hello Kitty and Jazzlyn/Badtz-Maru

I've got a couple more Hello Kitty dolls for us to take a quick look at.

This is Ã‰clair, who pairs with Hello Kitty, so I think we can assume she's the main character.

She's cute. Slightly less bright pink hair than Stylie.

Still not sure we needed two with pink hair. Why not red hair for Éclair? Maybe because the bow is red? Eh, let them both be red.

I really do love the faces on these girls.

Then we've got Jazzlyn, who made it out a bit early. I wasn't supposed to get her until the first week of January.

Definitely my favorite. But then so is Badtz-Maru.

I tried to give her a sassier pose. Not easy with nothing but basic articulation, but I think it comes across anyway.

I love the overall dress and the black tee with the little cutout.

I'm tempted to get another to redress. I just adore her face.

Gymberly is the only one not out yet. Amazon says she'll arrive between the 8th and 16th.

REVIEW: Hello Kitty & Friends Stylie/My Melody

Got my first Hello Kitty & Friends doll today! I pre-ordered all 4, but only Stylie has shipped so far.

These are $14.99 on Amazon.

This line is definitely not for the articulation or quality snobs. I don't mind basic with lesser quality as long as the design is something I don't already have on my shelves.

Stylie has only the most basic articulation: neck, shoulders, hips.

Her hair isn't the best quality. It's nylon, I think, but not the worst nylon ever. It's okay.

The tiny My Melody is really cute.

I got this line because I love their adorable little faces. I think she's super cute.

The outfit is pretty basic. The skirt's fabric layer is attached to the clear vinyl.

The shoes are enormous!

I like the waves in her hair. I'm not going to condition it because I don't want them to go away.

She's just really cute. Love the pink they used for her hair.

And a quick size shot. I'll have to take another with those giant shoes off. I think she'd still be a little taller than the Cave Club though.

Overall, I think she's a very cute, unique, basic doll. I don't think these are worth $14.99 though. Maybe $12.99 at most? (She says as if she's not going to pay whatever to get more new characters if they come out.)

PRE-ORDER: Hello Kitty & Friends

I saved the four Hello Kitty & Friends dolls in my Amazon wishlist and I saw a few minutes ago that they were up for pre-order. I clicked each listing open in a new tab, but none of them worked. If you click on them now, you just get that Amazon error page with a cute dog on it. But I was able to hit "pre-order" and order all four from my wishlist itself. So they're sort of available for pre-order and sort of not.

Release dates are saying December 23rd for everyone except Jazzlyn, who's December 30th.

NEWS: SO. MANY. MATTEL. DOLLS. (And one Rainbow High.)

Got a bunch of Amazon links for you guys!

Let's start with the sole non-Mattel product:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08FGLMWCN/

That's Karma Nichols, the neon green Rainbow High doll from Series 2. No photos yet, but I can't wait.

Now for Mattel.

Let's start with the brand new line. These are called Hello Kitty & Friends. They're about 10" basic dolls with no major articulation. Just the typical basic points: neck, shoulders, hips. (Unless they're hiding something under their clothes. A waist joint is always possible.) Each doll comes with a plastic figure of the Sanrio character she's friends with.

Éclair/Hello Kitty:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J4FPFWS/

I really like the faces on these and I love how the lips are painted.

Stylie/My Melody:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J4J2JNH/

Two pink ones. Sigh. The Hello Kitty character could have worked with red hair. Like crayon red, not natural red. Anyway. Hmm, looks like there's no way they were hiding a waist joint. Ah, well. I'm not an articulation snob. I'd say this is your non-white girl, though they all have the same face. Darker skin would have been nice, especially with that shade of pink hair.

Jazzlyn/Badtz-Maru:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J4J9F9H/

Oh, look, it's my predictable favorite. I do love Badtz-Maru. My other main fave is Chococat, who we don't have a doll for yet. I would have liked black hair or a black streak or something, but these are too basic for that, I guess. I really do love the faces on these and the eyebrows. This one's got a great lip color.

Dashleen/Keroppi:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08J4H745L/

This girl's name was apparently originally Gymberly, which is seriously cheesy fantastic. I love it. I might change it to that. Although Dashleen is also pretty cheesy fantastic. For the tanned blonde, she's actually really cute and I think she's my second fave. The green eyebrows are a nice, odd touch.

I like these a lot for basic dolls. I hope they keep going and add more characters. Sanrio has so many. I'd love to see an Asian girl for Kuromi and a really dark-skinned one for Chococat. As I discussed with a friend earlier, a boy/girl 2-pack for the Twin Stars would also be cute.

Moving on, CAVE CLUB LIVES. I was worried about them, though they still haven't made a doll of Ruly, which disappoints me.

So this time we're getting a solo version of Rockelle:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08J4HDLHS/

She was the one that came with the dinosaur. She looks a lot younger here, but it's not in a bad way. I have her coming and she might arrive tomorrow! And I fully admit the main reason I bought her was Teddy-Rex.

Then we've got a brand new girl, who is AMAZING.

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08J4GW95M/

I am so in love with this design. Her name is Bashley. She's the best design yet. I love me some Roaralai, but this girl might nudge her out of the #1 spot. Her name also reminds me of Smashley Simpson from Whip It and anything that reminds me of Whip It is excellent. But just look at her. She's perfect.

Tella also got a deluxe doll with a sleepover theme:

https://www.amazon.com/Mattel-Cave-About-Sleepovers-Accessories/dp/B08J4HJBWF/

She's cute with the oversized Musa pigtails, but I think I'll be passing on her.

And surprise, Enchantimals still exist! Yeah, I'm shocked, too. Amazon has been getting the winter-themed ones back in stock, so maybe that was a sign more was coming.

So we've got several dolls in the original style and then a new style. I'll do the older ones first, starting with my favorite.

Ofelia Ostrich:

https://www.amazon.com/dp/B08GLKK95T/

I love her. She's likely the only one I'll get. This new theme is Sunny Savanna.

Naturally, I can't find the other listings now, but there were family sets like this ostrich one for kangaroo girl and an elephant girl. She wasn't Ekaterina but a new elephant with pink hair. I think? Then there's a larger playset with the giraffe, only I think she was the same as the first time she appeared. I'll make a new post if I can find them again.

But the really cute thing they're doing is tiny playsets! They have five animal friends included and they act like a matryoshka nesting doll. It's so cute. But the little figures of the characters are even cuter.

Bree Bunny:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GLL39Q9/

I think Bree is actually the least cute and she's still darling.

Peeki Parrot:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GLJY61K/

OMG. LOVE.

But wait. This next one...

Cambrie Cow:

https://www.amazon.com/gp/product/B08GLGQ8GY/

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA! So cute so cute so cute!

These three sets are up for order, though they're "temporarily out of stock." You can bet I ordered.
