REVIEW: Snughouls Series 2!

Way back in September 2023, I posted about my first Care Weres. Since then, the brand has renamed itself Snughouls, though I'll still keep both tags to make sure the posts all stay together in a search.

The Series 2 campaign was ginormous with a ton of new characters. There were some new weres, though I didn't get any, and a new bat character, though I didn't get one of those either. (I did in the following campaign, so he'll probably be the next to arrive.) There were beelzebears, mothmen and wolpertingers. All of them are adorable, so choosing was difficult, but choose I had to because these guys are huge and not cheap.

This is Hellfire Beelzebear. He was my first choice.

I love his horns, the cloven hooves, the red ear lining, the pretty eyes, and his soft gray fur.

And also the little wings and the big floofy tail!

I love the entire Beelzebear design, but Hellfire was the ultimate color combo for me, so he's my only one.

Moonlight Mothman was the first of three mothmen designs.

The pictures don't do his colors justice.

Love the toes!

Super cute face.

And the wings.

Grimshroud represents the ever popular death's head moth.

Their little antenna are bendable.

I love the colors on him. He's a bashful character in my mind.

Wings.

Cutie face!

Then there's Luna Mothman.

I fell head over heels for Luna's original design, which used a much darker pink with a pink neck ruff and a moon-themed belly badge. I was disappointed when the design was changed and decided not to choose her anymore.

Lovely wings.

I had originally backed the Krampus Care Were but didn't end up liking his final design. I kept coming back to Luna and decided to swap him for her.

And now I'm glad I did. I think she might be my favorite of the three, but I'm not positive. I do love Grimmy a lot.

All three mothmen!

And finally, Wispy Winds Wolpertinger. I call her Autumn in my head.

The wolpertinger is a German cryptid. They're basically composite animals that can vary in components. This one is basically a winged, fanged, antlered rabbit.

Adorable wings!

And that li'l tail!

I love her colors. She's the most cuddly of the five, too. I think maybe she's a little less tightly-stuffed or something.

I adore all five of these and I'm so happy they're finally home.

I do want to note my immense surprise when this is what I pulled out of the hub this morning. The package came FedEx, though I didn't receive an out for delivery notice until after it was delivered. I never actually got a delivery message from them. I had no idea it was in the hub, being that I figured it would be in a giant box. Nope. This is like the world's biggest plastic mailer.

Honestly, not thrilled about it. These aren't cheap and they should have been handled with way more care. All my extras were just tossed loose in the bottom of the bag. I'm tempted to let the creator know this is how his shipping partner is mailing things, but people have been rude to him about wait times, so I'm not saying anything. Yet. I'm not mad about it, as they arrived safely, but this is just asking for problems.

Meet the Care Weres!

I discovered the Care Weres on Instagram and was able to preorder these two before the preorder shop closed.

It felt like a long wait until they made their way to me, but they finally arrived!

The creator released a handful of each character while packing the preorders and I managed to grab the third one I wanted, too. I waited until she arrived before posting these pics here, though I did share on IG already.

So the Care Weres are...pretty obviously...what if Care Bears were werewolves?

(The creator of the line calls them Careweres, but I can't resist separating the words to resemble Care Bears more closely.)

These guys are HUGE. They're a whopping 20" so they dwarf vintage and modern Care Bears.

This lovely gray guy is Foggy Were. He was my first choice, which is likely not surprising.

Perhaps a bit outside the box, Nightmare Were was my must have second choice. I simply couldn't afford three of them at the time and the preorder store was closing in only a few days after I learned about them. My third character seems more up my alley, but Nightmare and his big orange and red eyes won me over.

Witching Were is the one I was able to order recently. She came not too long after the first two, which was nice.

I love her pink eyes!

And her voice in my head is totally Amber Benson's. Zero shame. Tara forever.

I'm really happy with my three, though I am going to be tempted if another batch goes up for sale. I'm pretty sure there will be more put up eventually. If it's at the right time, I'm going to try for Rare Were, the hot pink one who loves steak. Her belly badge is a heart-shaped steak. It's excellent.

One more photo so you can see Witching and Nightmare side by side. These two are sister and brother in my little family.

Care Weres Series 2 features the Care Were Cousins and it's currently available for backing:

This project has really gone viral and the support is spectacular. The main new cryptids are the bat, wolpertinger, Beelzebear, and mothman. Several designs for each have been unlocked, and the newest is Krampus himself. I don't even know if I can afford as many as I want, but I'm gonna try!
