There are only 6 to collect so I'm glad I got sent 2 different ones. 

Out of the bag. 

So I got Share Bear. 

And Good Luck Bear! (One of the 3 I wanted.)

Said bellies.

Love that they did the heart buttons on their butts just like the regular CBs.

Adorable!

So yeah, 6 bears. And the codes for once are in no logical order that I can tell. Unless it goes backwards? Hmm.

REVIEW: Care Bears Basic Fun Birthday Bear

Amazon has another exclusive Care Bear. Like the previous one, Bedtime, Birthday Bear is 16" tall, which makes him bigger than the Care Bears sold in regular stores. 

Birthday is described as "she" on the tags, but he was a boy originally and a boy he is to me. 

I'm a big fan of Birthday. I hate that he gets forgotten so often, so I was thrilled to see this new plush on Amazon. I bought him right away. 

And he smells like cake!

REVIEW: Basic Fun Care Bears Wish & Love-a-Lot

 

I have not been keeping up with Care Bears news, so I was surprised to see Wish and Love-a-Lot in Walmart tonight! They're exclusives to there and cost $12.88 each. 

Love-a-Lot isn't one of my big favorites (Tenderheart, Cozyheart Penguin, Grumpy, Good Luck, Wish, Friend, Birthday and sometimes Bedtime and Champ), but I do have a soft spot for her. I had quite a few of the poseables when I was a kid and I want to say she was one of my earlier ones.  

I love this one's little open mouth design and the faces on the hearts are adorable. 

I always forget Wish is a girl. Was she always a girl? 

Yes, she was. Odd. I remember thinking of her as male, even during childhood. Although I admittedly made a lot of characters whatever I wanted. Cozyheart has always been female, but mine was male. 

Anyway. Wish is super cute. I do love this new style of design for the bears, though unlike the previous design, I'm not buying every release, only the characters I like most. (Can we have Birthday and Friend, please?)

PRE-ORDER: 2020 Basic Fun Care Bears

If you've been having trouble finding the new Walmart exclusive 2020 Care Bears, Walmart.com finally has pre-orders up!

My local store had a big endcap, but only 4 Cheer Bears on it. I caved and got one, even though she wasn't one of the three I wanted. The next time I went, a few days later, the entire thing was gone.

Then I tried another store I've only been to once before and scored the last Grumpy! They also had 4 Cheer Bears and 2 Share, who I'm not interested in.

So I'm really thankful the website now has pre-orders, since it seems these guys are really popular.

They're not out til August 28th, but they still make a nice fall back if you have no luck finding them in stores. I've got one more to check tomorrow for Tenderheart and Good Luck, but I'm relieved to have been able to pre-order them.

I'm definitely a sucker for Care Bears, but I love the stylized faces on these guys. Especially Grumpy. Definitely a very me bear.

TOY FAIR 2017: It Begins

I've done minor Toy Fair coverage in my old doll Livejournal in years past, so I'm going to continue that trend and try to up the content for this blog.

I haven't watched all of this show, but what I've seen is cute and it's how I got to know Starfire, Beast Boy and others that have appeared at least in the background if not otherwise in DC Superhero Girls. These mini figures are adorable and I'll likely buy Jinx, who's my fave design from the show.

I love Just Play's Care Bears, but I think it's a giant misstep to give them all those glittery giant blue eyes. They look weird. I will probably get Daydream Bear, the purpley one with the Saturn-ringed heart, because I like her design. The pink one with the sun heart is Shine Bright and the blue musical bear is Heartsong. I love new characters, but these new eyes just take away a lot of their personality. I'm not sure how long I'll collect this line if these eyes are the new norm. And where is poor Birthday Bear? He always gets forgotten.
