It took three tries, but I finally got a decent Kimber.

She's gorgeous.
I think Aja is still my favorite, but she's a really close second.
Unlike the vintage doll, she actually gets a shirt.
I'm not trying to replicate her box art pose.
Yep, lovely.
I'm happy to finally have all the Holograms together. As much trouble as this company is, I hate to say it, but I really do want them to keep producing these characters.

Even tough I am not really a Jem fan ( I wasn't even thought of in the 80's ) I do learned about them through Integrity Toys, and they are so fun! Even if I really prefer IT overall aesthetic over this company's by a huge margin, I like that this are not so insanely priced in comparison AND they don't use that damn pleather for everything! I hated that. I wonder if they could share clothing.
ReplyDeleteHaving grown up with it as my fave cartoon, I definitely favor the vintage line. IT's are gorgeous but sometimes feel more like Fashion Royalty in cosplay than representations of the characters. The later versions captured the faces better, I think, especially Aja. I give these credit for putting affordable Jem back out there. They're not perfect but we Jem fans will take what we can get.
DeleteYeah, I think they were learning in the process. The first Jem, the one from Comic Con I think? She's downright a FR girl in the face. The last Aja, the one in a giftset with Shana, is very cute. But by that time....dude, they were asking for your kidneys plural lol.
DeleteI had to have that Aja, because she's in my fave of her outfits from the show, but it's ridiculously expensive from the vintage line. I made some of the money back by selling Shana. I also got the Jetta and Stormer set. I regret not getting Roxy and Pizzazz! But the prices are even worse now.
