REVIEW: Kindi Kids Minis

My Target finally had the single-packed Kindi Kids minis, so I had to grab some. They didn't have the single Lippy Lulu, but I hope to find her eventually. 

These run $4.99. 

They had the minis with vehicle a while ago and I got that version of Lulu, but opted to wait to review her until I could do both styles at once. 

I think this was $9.99.

So they're cute. Toys like this are easy to review, because there's honestly not much to say aside from that. 

They're bobble-heads and then also jointed at each shoulder and at the hips/waist. 

Each has a hole on the bottom of her feet to stand on various playsets. If you bend their legs to make them sit, there's a hole there, too, which is how Lulu stays on her scooter. 

They're roughly the height of the original Li'l Shoppies, though very different proportions. 

Not something I'd buy a lot of, but I am a sucker for cute and I do miss Shoppies, so these fill the void a tiny bit.

REVIEW: Shoppies Dance Style

Unfortunately, I don't think the US is getting a release of these dolls. If they do, my guess is they'll be in random discount stores. I had them pre-ordered on Amazon and then cancelled TWICE. So when I saw them on ebay from the UK, I bought them. Expensive, yes, but no regrets. If we never get any more new Shoppies in the US, these were a good three for me to end my collection with. (Though I might hunt down the new Cocolette...)

It's going to take me months to get a good spot for review pics, so bear with me. I'm working a lot since we're short-staffed and I can only do one or two small things for my collection displays per week.

Let's start with my main reason for getting these. I really wanted Crystal Snow!

She's one of my favorite Li'ls, so she was a must have.

And she's gorgeous.

I love her Shopkin pair of skates.

Crimped hair always a win for me.

And her colors are just perfect for her skintone.

Love her eyes!

And these two were made to be displayed together.

My other big want from the foursome was Sunny Meadows.

How often do Shoppies have a handheld accessory that's not a purse? Not too often.

She's lovely. Her Shopkin is super cute. Her hair color is beautiful.

My only complaint? Her legs can only move forward! How can she do rhythmic gymnastics without leg movement? They sculpted her a little butt in her leotard, but if it prohibits movement, there had to be a better way.

And finally, Riana Radio. I had mixed feelings on her, because she's quite adorable, buuuuuuut they lightened her. She was never super dark by any means, but she was darker than this. She's a bit golden pale now. Maybe they were aiming for Asian?

She does work the look she has. The skintone, blue pigtails and music theme instantly remind me of Musa from Winx Club, so that's good.

CUTE.

Were you hoping to buy this line in stores or on Amazon? If so, will you import them? I think they were worth it, especially if it's a sign the line is ending.

REVIEW: Shoppies Beach Style Berry D'Lish

I had been waiting to see this girl in a store before deciding if I wanted her or not, but the only store that carries the beach dolls is Target and they haven't gotten this new set in.

So I gave in and ordered her.

I wasn't sure about her freckles. Pinkish freckles always run the risk of looking more like a breakout than freckles.

I think they look okay. A different color would have been preferable, but they're not horrible.

She's so cute, you barely even notice.

Shorter hair than usual = awesome.

Her entire color scheme and design is really great. The freckles are the only thing I would have tweaked.

REVIEW: Shoppies Jenni Lantern

Jenni Lantern! I'm not really into the current Shoppies mermaid theme or the other masquerade girls, but Jenni was a must have.

Jenni, Pearlina, Bella and Lulu are all currently available on Amazon for $14.99 each.

Jenni comes in a nice large box, because one of the awesome features is a backdrop!

I LOVE this idea. I mean, yeah, it's limiting for use with other toys, but it's a cute play idea for kids and good for taking pictures of Jenni.

Jenni's got the poseable arms all the deluxe dolls now do.

She looks cute in all her purple and gold.

The only thing I don't like is the blue in her hair. I think it should have been another color.

She's very pretty. I love her eye makeup.

I got that little black speck off her teeth, too!

I snapped this one really fast, because her mask does not like to stay on. It actually shot back at me the first time I put it on. Good thing I prefer her with it off.

Jenni is into video games! The screen changes and the little couch flips up.

I love Jenni. She's not my favorite Shoppie ever, but I think she's very cute and more different than the other deluxe ones out right now.

REVIEW: Shoppies Beach Style Kokonut & Popsi Blue

My new Beach Style Shoppies arrived from Amazon today.

I had no idea they were continuing this beach line, of which I own two of the original three, but I was thrilled to see both my favorite characters from the current Li'l Shoppies: Kokonut and Popsi Blue!

The art as always is adorable.

So like the other beach Shoppies, these girls are cheaper and come with less. They have a stand, comb, little ID book, 1 Shopkin, and 1 larger accessory that's not part of their basic outfit.

Neither of my girls has a fabric accessory. Isla is the only one to get fabric in this second wave.

I'm still just so happy they made Kokonut! I really love her Li'l version.

This larger version is also gorgeous. The color scheme is perfect. The only thing I don't get is why her sunglasses are purple. There's not a speck of purple on her.

Super cute bangs and a long ponytail. She's got a little bit of a Roxy (of the Misfits from Jem) vibe going on. I'm such a sucker for white hair thanks to Roxy.

Love the mismatched shoes, too!

And then we've got Popsi.

Another great color scheme, this time all around.

Her left hand is so cute!

I definitely recommend both of these girls. I might just pick up the berry one yet!

I just learned about the existence of these today and happened to check Amazon for them.

Now normally Amazon is a horrid source for Shoppies. They get them late and they're overpriced.

My girl! I'm so thrilled this character gets a big doll. She was one of my fave Li'l Shoppies from the more recent sets. The hair could have been shorter, but the longer gives her Roxy vibes, so I approve.

The more I look at her, the more interested I get, but I don't know. The freckles are holding me back. They're not done very attractively and she looks more like she's having a breakout rather than she's freckled.

REVIEW: Shoppies Sia Shell

I was disappointed to once again find no Marvel Rising dolls at Target. There's no way I'll get one for my birthday now.

But I did get Sia Shells!

$14.99 like Tia Tigerlily.

I think Sia's going to be the popular one of the two, even though I prefer Tia.

Mermaid theme, stereotypically girly colors. She's going to be harder to find than Tia.

Sia's art is super gorgeous! I'm torn between wishing her hair looked like that and liking the way it is. The art shows the colors better than the real hair, but I love the real hair's multiple twists.

Here she is. She's very pretty and continues the trend of better Shoppies designs. I've really loved everything lately, barring the first girls in this locket line. I just did not care  for them! But Tia and Sia are amazing, the beach basics, the basic line before that. I love all those.

My only complaint about her is that headband! They had it attached to her head with two giant plastic bands, and the end of one was so long it could have been twisted all the way down one of her twisty locks.

I removed it completely, then cut one of the bands I double-knotted one end around one of the headband loops, then kept an inch and a half or so of the band and cut the rest off, then tied the other end. The headband is too loose to stay on without being tied there, so this works and it doesn't look like a sloppy mess.

I mean, really though, if you're going for this style of headband, just do a full loop so it stays on. This isn't rocket science.

I love the design of her locket. so pretty! Almost as good as Tia's.

The inside beats Tia's though. I love the tippy surfboard she can "ride" and the adorable surf shop door. The only tiny gripe I have is that she has to be in just the right spot for the locket to close, thanks to the positioning of the surfboard, so that may make it easier for kids to lose her, if they don't shut the locket right.

Overall, I really love Sia. I think she's a great addition to the line. I have her, Tia, Palmela and Sandi standing together on my coffee table and they just go together perfectly!

REVIEW: Shoppies Tia Tigerlily

I went to Target tonight, hoping to find some of the Marvel Rising dolls and checking for the new Shoppies, too. I was disappointed the Marvels I know my store has aren't out yet, but very pleased to find Tia Tigerlily in the Shoppies section. Sia Shells was not there, but I honestly prefer Tia, so that worked out for me. No sign of the new Happy Places unicorns or dolls, but I'll keep checking for everything.

Tia is part of the Li'l Secrets tie-in doll line. Each is a standard-size Shoppie doll but with new articulation at the elbows. The accessories for the doll are minimal. Basically, she just comes with a stand. Not even a Shopkin. And then you've got the mini version of the doll along with a Li'l Secrets mini locket playset.

Tia is actually my first one of these. I didn't care for the others that are currently out. The regular four characters released in the first wave have kind of a magical girl vibe, but none of them appealed to me.

Tia and Sia seem to go along better with the new beach trio of basic Shoppies. Sia's a teal-haired girl in a mermaid skirt, while Tia is obviously tigerlily-themed, but there's something tropical and beachy about her.

Here's Tia with her closed Li'l Secrets locket.

Tia has four long twists of hair divided into two pigtails. The orange parts of her hair (except her bangs) have iridescent "tinsel" in them, while the yellow parts do not.

She has lovely flower petal designs around her eyes and her whole facial color scheme is orange and yellow.


 

The arm articulation is a nice touch, I guess, but honestly, I think I would rather have had a Shopkin for her. Shoppies have very expressive arm molds and I think the articulation makes that much less pretty. There's something strange-looking about her arms. Maybe it's that I've spent years having them without articulation and it's just the change. Not sure. 

One of my favorite details are the plastic flower ornaments on each of Tia's pigtails. 

She's so perfect. I'm a big fan of orange and flower-themed dolls. Tigerlillies are a favorite flower, too, so she's really high up on my mental list of fave Shoppies.

 

Here are her accessories. The teeny Tia is quite cute and I like the little locket with its garden gate door. 

I hope to find Sia soon to go with her, but even by herself, Tia's made some new friends. She looks great standing next to Palmela and Sandi.

REVIEW: Shoppies Sandi Shores

I ended up back at Target tonight to pick up Sandi Shores! I'm not sure at all why she appealed to me so much when I saw her the first time. Maybe the vague resemblance to Dawn from the BSC.

I like her color combo a lot. I'm also thankful these girls don't really have facial flaws, because for Sandi, the main flaw I saw was her bikini paint coming up onto her stomach. I picked the Sandi with the better body paint.

Sandi has long, pale blonde hair in a simple ponytail. Her bangs are cute, but very gelled, so they're a bit sticky.

Sandi's the only one of the three beach girls with no fabric piece.

She makes up for it by having two stands. The one is regular, but the other is a cute, albeit way too tiny, purple surfboard.

Sandi's hair accessory is on a peg that just sticks into her ponytail. That's convenient, compared to the loose-fitting headbands on a lot of the others.

All in all, Sandi's very cute and I'm glad I grabbed her. She's not my usual type of Shoppie, but there's something about her that works for me.

I think she, Palmela and Coralee will look really cute together. I might pick up B'Anchor eventually, but not yet.
