REVIEW: Cry Babies BFF Talents Elodie & Daphne

Agh, I thought I was done! I almost forgot about these girls!

Since the Mermaze were getting ready to make the trip overseas, I figured I'd get Elodie and Daphne over here at last.

This is Elodie.

Adorable.

Nope. Although they're way better than Jade's.

Love the pose.

Daphne the ice skater. By far the darkest-skinned BFF. I'm really sad this line didn't make it to the US so kids could get her.

So cute.

Her hair is excellent.

Her skate blades come off, too.

Love all her colors.

So glad they're finally home. I should have gotten them ages ago when I got Shannon, but I kept hoping they'd be released here, especially when Lady was.

REVIEW: IMC Toys Cry Babies BFF Talents Lady

I received Lady with her scooter from Amazon yesterday and got around to deboxing her today. (It's hard to compete with new Shadow High.)

I opened the scooter and will be selling it to the local toy store, so no more pics of it other than this. It does come with a sheet of stickers to decorate the scooter, and the seat opens up for storage underneath.

I've really tried to stop buying playsets for the dolls they come with, but I couldn't resist because not only has IMC Toys failed to give us a Lady doll in the first two series of BFFs but this is a vast improvement on her basic outfit so I had to have her.

I'll never understand why they skipped Lady twice. She's one of the main characters.

She comes with plastic around her arms and legs to prevent staining. I did see a little red still on one of her legs though, so if you buy her, expect staining to be possible.

She has a little purse and...compact?

Super duper cute! I adore her. I also love that a line so obviously geared towards much younger kids has a doll with this much black in her outfit.

REVIEW: Cry Babies BFF Series 3 SHANNON

I caved utterly to my need for this girl and imported her via Amazon UK. I knew it was risky, due to their not great history with eye placement. She's slightly off, but it's not the worst ever. It helps that her eyes are so light. And it gives me an excuse to buy a perfect one when they hit stores so I can have one wearing each pair of shoes.

So this is BFF Series 3, which is called Talents.

Shannon clearly is a dancer.

I really hope she's in the show. Look at this sass.

More cute art.

Back of the box. I reeeeeeeally wanted Elodie, too, but I just couldn't justify risking two dolls with eye issues and having to rebuy them.

And the other side of the box art.

These accessories were under the left side of the box front.

Then there's Shannon in her tube.

The twirling multi-art tubes from the first two series were cooler, but it's important to see these dolls to check for eye issues.

They also learned not to tape the poster down! No tape damage to this at all.

Here she is!

I like the dark butterfly theme. I feel like this is as close to goth as a younger kids' line is going to get and I like what they've done with her.

I really love the ballet slippers, but you know I love these stompy boots way more.

Excellent purse!

I'm so happy with her! Glad I decided to give in to impatience and order. I have no idea when they're getting to the US. Hopefully soon and they can bring the Hair Academy dolls along with them.

REVIEW: IMC Toys Cry Babies BFF HANNAH

I really love Hannah, but that was less of a surprise than Jassy, because Hannah's got some green on her and I liked her design, so I expected to like her.

Those glasses are not the ones on the box.

I don't know exactly what Hannah is. She lacks wings like Jenna has, but with the horse ears and cloud theme, I'd guess she's another pegasus.

I really like the blonde they used for her!

And her eyes are such a pretty color.

That middle chunk of hair was not good though. It was the only one not curled and it was also a good two inches longer than the rest of her hair. I chopped it off a bit. Thankfully, it's hiding on the back of her head. I could fix it, but I'm lazy.

The plain white shoes are the only thing I don't love about her here. Just a little color would have helped. Pink laces on one, green laces on the other. Any pop of color would have been nice.

Hers fit a little better than Bruny's, but glasses are not this line's forte.

I am definitely a Hannah fan. I like her brighter colors. Love the hair colors and the eyes. The stars on her pants. The baggier pants in general. She's great.

Really looking forward to Series 3!

REVIEW: IMC Toys Cry Babies BFF JASSY

Jassy was my surprise of the day.

I have no idea what pretzels have to do with unicorns, but I love the purse anyway.

I initially didn't like the visor or shoes, but she pulls them off.

This coat is the worst garment they've done. It both eats her neck AND gives her 80s shoulder pads. It's a cute piece, but it is not cut right for this doll.

Thankfully, her dress underneath isn't ugly. It's simple, but it's cute. I like the side stripes.

The shoes did grow on me once she had them on. They're an unusual shape, but I like them now.

Her hair is lovely.

I initially didn't think much of her outfit. I'm not a fan of visors. She was yet another pastel girl and another unicorn. (She doesn't have a signature doll yet, but Dreamy is the unicorn character on the show.) But Jassy is such a gorgeous doll that she makes all these negative things work in her favor. She won me over completely. Even the damn visor looks good on her.

REVIEW: IMC Toys Cry Babies BFF BRUNY

I decided to treat myself to the last three BFFs I needed, because this weekend at work has been horrid, I busted my ass, and I deserve these cuties as a reward for not bitching out anyone.

So first up is Bruny, the dragon girl.

The dragon elements are the scale pattern on the boots, the wings on her jacket, and the headband.

Not sure what hearts have to do with anything. Sigh. The gemstones I get what with dragons and their hoarding.

Bruny herself is a very cute doll. I like the combo of the brighter blue with the more typical pastel pink hair.

Her outfit is dull though. What do pastel pink and blue and a bunch of hearts have to do with dragons?

I do love the boots though.

I don't like the style of the glasses and they don't really fit. They do well with headgear for the most part, but the glasses are too small.

She refuses to wear that.

Overall, Bruny is a very cute doll, but I don't get dragon from her much. She's probably the character where I wish they'd gone outside the box with their very limited color palette. She's a dragon! Give her red, orange, yellow! Fire colors. Not yet another pink and blue doll. Kinda makes me wonder if these designers are Winx fans, because Bloom had the all-powerful dragon flame...and wore pink and blue a lot...with hearts a few times.

The doll herself is adorable and I definitely love the boots, but she's not a favorite.

REVIEW: IMC Toys Cry Babies BFF DAISY

My final new BFF doll for the time being. I'm sure I'll end up with the remaining three eventually.

Daisy was not one of my faves. She's a diva. Sometimes. Other times she can be very generous with her time and knowledge, so I wanted her enough to pay full price.

Daisy has her cat ear microphone headset, her purse, her necklace, and her kitty socks and shoes.

I'm wondering if her kitty theme is why they left Katie out of the show. They chose Daisy instead. Hmm.

Mine has a bit of wonk, but I loved her right out of the box regardless.

Her hair color is excellent!

The outfit is a little basic without the jacket. The cat socks elevate it.

All put together she looks quite good.

I did have the same headband struggle with her that I did with Jenna. I tried to put it on and it immediately yanked hairs out of place. I had to replace her rubberband with a blue one of my own (that looks better), because the rubberband they used isn't meant to be taken off. It's too tiny to stretch back out to put it back on her. So keep that in mind if you play with her hair.

While not one of my fave characters, I do think her doll is one of my faves. It's mostly the pretty raspberry hair color.
