REVIEW: Ruby Red Fashion Friends HARLOW

I mostly stopped buying RRFF after the first Sage debacle and then the massive disappointment that was her 2.0 version. However, when I saw Harlow, she was a must have. And thankfully, an open preorder.

I don't plan on buying much more from this company. I feel like I have enough and she's the only piece they've made since the original Sage that I've even remotely wanted.

Harlow wears a mustard-colored bodysuit under burgundy bloomery overalls. Then she's got...I don't even know what to call it. It's basically a dress with thin straps that goes over everything else, but it's too open in the front to be worn as an actual dress. Overdress, I guess? It's lovely, as it has a lot of neat embroidered details. Her socks match her bodysuit and her shoes are like all-black converse. A bit of a pain to get on, but I managed eventually. Then she has her black hat, brown leathery bag, and a wooden beaded necklace with a lavender tassel.

Her style is kind of all over the place, but to me, she's very comfortable autumn.

She has gorgeous brown eyes and darker lips than they typically do.

Her wig is a navy blue bob.

She's one of my top three favorites, along with Elinda and Fernanda.

RUBY RED Talla & Charming Dorothy

I have two Ruby Red lovelies to show you guys tonight.

I received Talla a couple days ago and Charming Dorothy came yesterday. I've been massively busy at work, so this is the first free time I've had since...Friday morning?

With these, I'm not sure if people care about the boxes or seeing how the items are packaged, so I'm opting to just take photos of the dressed dolls from now on. If you like the more detailed reviews, leave me a comment and I'll go back to doing those.

So Ruby Red Fashion Friends is one part of the Ruby Red Galleria line. The galleria dolls are a wider range of sizes than Fashion Friends, as well as many of them being Chinese characters.

The Girls of the Orient line I believe predated Fashion Friends. They use the same bodies.

It's not a huge line and only a couple dolls tend to release at once.

The dolls also reuse the same names, just with different wigs and outfits. This is Talla. Others are Spring and Kadinana. A new version of Kadinana also came out at the same time as this Talla and while I loved both, I really loved Talla, so I chose her.

These had to be ordered through a dealer and I picked Happily Ever After, as I've bought from them several times. Her price was $179.99 plus shipping. She shipped from Happily, so it was all domestic, as opposed to getting dolls from RRFF, which is international shipping.

As with RRFF, all of Talla's pieces were nicely wrapped. You have to dress the doll yourself. The only thing on her was her earrings, and that's also my only complaint about her. The wig sits on the doll's head inside it's hairnet. Well, the hairnet got caught around the earrings. The earrings really should be packaged separately.

Talla's jacket is a separate piece that goes over the dress. Her hair ornaments are barrettes.

She was easy to dress, though as with RRFF, getting the wig to stay in place is the hard part.

I think she's stunning. I've become extremely picky with RRFF, so Talla was the perfect new addition.

Next up is Charming Dorothy. One of the semi-recent RRFF dolls was called Sweet Dorothy and she sold out within minutes. RRFF is very collector-friendly, so they worked with the designer to create a similar yet different version of Dorothy.

Sweet Dorothy had straight hair, her dress was brown, and she had a green sweater. Charming Dorothy has a brown coat and a green dress. I skipped Sweet, but I really love Charming. The only thing I really like better about Sweet is her striped stockings. These socks are cute, but the striped stockings were better.

I don't have a doll with this mold, so she's a nice new addition.

The shoes are really cute.

Love the purse.

Not a big fan of the coat.

I think one of the reasons I really love this Dorothy is that with her curls and green polka dot dress, she reminds me of this old Precious Moments vinyl doll I had as a kid. I may buy her again so she can stand by Dorothy. She was Shannon from Ireland and she came out in 1989.

Love them both! Talla is sitting in my bedroom with the Charlie Bears, while I rearranged the RRFF display in the closet to make space for Dorothy.

REVIEW: Ruby Red Fashion Friends Wonderland Siblies

I preordered the RRFF Wonderland Siblies pair from Happily Ever After and they arrived today.

These run around $100 each.

I'm not a huge Wonderland collector, but these were very appealing.

I deboxed Little Alice first.

She comes with a collector card, a band that helps hold her wig in place, a bow attached to a barrette, her shoes, and her still in tissue paper outfit.

Back of the card. Mine is #15.

I love the asymmetrical dress.

Her bow went on fairly easily.

She's cute in an unusual way. I got her because I liked the dress style and bob, but also because she actually looks like some people on my dad's side of the family.

I love this weird dress.

I wanted to like the apron, but it really sticks out weird. I ended up taking it off.

The Queen of Hearts comes with a card, a wig band, her crown, her very pointy shoes, and her wrapped outfit.

#53 this time. It would have been cool if they'd matched, but the likelihood is slim, especially because the queen shipped so much later than Alice due to a fabric change.

I adore this dress! And those shoes are fab. The hearts are raised and there's red underneath.

People have been getting this doll and describing her as sassy. Yep. I see it. She manages to have attitude even only in her shoes and panties.

So pretty!

Her makeup is gorgeous. Definitely my favorite Siblie ever.

And of course, I'm a big fan of the very short hair she got.

I almost kept her like this.

The crown was not the easiest to get on. Despite the wig band, both these girls' wigs slide around a lot. That crown is pretty heavy and I had to situate the barrette in just the right place.

Worth the struggle. I do like how it looks.

I love these two. Definitely a take on Wonderland that I can get behind.

REVIEW: Ruby Red Fashion Friends Fierce Sabrina

FINALLY.

DHL has had my Sabrina since Wednesday and could easily have brought her out for delivery. They claimed "severe weather" as the reason for the delays. Eeyeah. It's been severely sunny and in the 50s and 60s. DHL is the WORST.

Backpack, choker, hat, boots, wig and wig cap, and in the tissue is her outfit.

Authenticity card.

Mine is #113. Nice.

Her outfit.

The white top is shown in her photos with the sleeve on the other arm, but it looks better this way. The velcro along the side is more hidden.

She's gorgeous.

Scooted the wig back to show her brows, but I like it the first way better.

Choker on. Love it.

Jacket on.

Zipped.

Nah, I prefer unzipped.

Love the hat.

She doesn't need to carry her bag. I'm leaving it on her box. But there it is.

I love her. I wasn't 100% on her but wanted to give her a chance, and in person, I'm a fan.

Some people nitpicked her outfit, saying it was like Elena's.

Uh. It isn't.

The jackets are a different style. The boots are a different style. The plaids are different.

If you can accept floofy dress after floofy dress and not say they look the same, then you can see that this isn't the same either.

Here are all my darker-styled RRFFs.

Nicky, Sabrina, Elena, Elinda.

Love them all!

I thought I'd take a pic of my rearranged collection. This is one of the shelves in my closet that are perfect for displaying my larger dolls.

In the front row, we've got Elinda, Elena, Daisy, Fernanda, Charlotte, Stella and Hanna. Then my Ddung Juliet and Rexard Catherine of Aragon. (In a very, very historically accurate hot pink gown. Heh.)

Behind them are Manica from Paola Reina, Nicky, Sabrina, Nellie, 2 Gorjuss dolls, Kelsey, Sydney, 2 more Gorjuss dolls.

In the very back are my lone Gene doll, a hidden Brass Key Cultured Keepsakes Russian porcelain doll (she's behind Nicky), Laurel, Alissa and Kat from Stardust Classics, and Carpatina Veronika.
