I guess you are talking about the leaks on MH. And I agree with you, and I just want to say, that maybe these dolls are made for the TV Movie? The only thing I do wish they've kept is the original Cleo mood. I absolutely loved how Cleo and Nefera'd faces where inspired by old egyptian style art. Especially on their profiles. All of them, like Frankie with her rectangular face, or Lagoona with her bulbous eyes, where perfect ik every way But I guess the old has to give space for the new. At the end of the day I still have my older MH dolls. I just hope we get a Cleo repro, I need one without glue.
I love the original molds, but the existence of a new line in no way erases the old one. If people only like the old ones, they still have them and there's no need to constantly be negative about the new. The Skullector line is very much in the vein of the original, so they even have that, which is more than they had a few years ago.
People whined endlessly and begged for MH to come back but when it does and it's...*GASP*...for children, as it always was, they bitch bitch bitch in their usual language of entitled, spoiled brats. MH has gone through several changes and these are just more of the same, bringing the same whiny entitlement every change does in this type of adult collector.
I've said it for years and I'll say it again:
Playline dolls are for children. Families spend more on dolls for kids than all the adult collectors ever could spend on themselves. We will always be the minority and they should be happy an adult-aimed line exists at all. It's fine to collect lines aimed at kids, but never ever forget that we're not the target market. That's not how playline works.
Dolls change over time. Everything changes over time. Welcome to the real world. The existence of the new doesn't erase the old.
And for fuck's sake, the pathetic doll wars need to stop. It's far more fabulous to like multiple things than compare everything to a single line you put on a pedestal and refuse to see the flaws in.
