REVIEW: Defa Lucy

I seriously missed out on Defa Lucy. I bought two when people were just starting to see them. I have the one with the short, silvery blue hair and black top, and then the ponytail brunette with the holographic pants from that same series. I kept seeing all these other awesome ones and waiting for them to come to Temu, which I wanted to stick with instead of also buying from Shein or AliExpress.

Very much kicking myself for not buying the one with the really short black bob. I came so close to getting her so many times and now almost all of the dolls are gone!

I finally bit the bullet and set up AliExpress, so this girl, who was my most wanted from the Barbie Extra-ish series, was part of my first order.

She is my top favorite for many reasons.

First, I love that fat twist of brown and purple hair.

Second, the outfit is near perfection. The jacket looks like it came from Jem with those shoulders. It reminds me of the Electric Chords outfit, which had a purple jacket and then pink pants with black stripes like these. I love the lime green crop top, though the "Girl Power" printed on it is the single thing I dislike about this entire outfit. The skirt is absolute perfection. The boots are a weird match with a skirt that length, but they work. I mean she and her mini pony both have Saturn necklaces, so she's an out there kinda girl.

The necklaces, earrings and sunglasses are all great. I'm not as fond of the watch, but I don't hate it. I think I just wish it was the same shade as the boots.

The purse has the oddest strap, but it works.

The pink scrunchy is the only other thing I'm going to nitpick, but I like the scrunchy itself. The pink just doesn't match anything else. I would have preferred lavender or lime green.

Why can't we have all these over here right now?

That hair.

That FACE. She is stunning.

Like the second I deboxed her, I knew she was going to join my favored Coffee Table Crew so I could look at her every day.

The boots.

I really, really wish I hadn't missed out on more of this series! I think two others are still available, but I'm not as into those. I want the white/blue-haired one in the orange outfit.

But I did order one more (green hair!) from a different series. I can't risk not getting her.

Definitely hoping we see more of these on the sales sites soon. I don't regret getting AliExpress to get her. Though my wallet certainly regrets it!

REVIEW: Monster High Winter Cleo

It took me two tries to get a good Cleo. The first one had a huge lip rub, though it wasn't on the front of the box like it usually is. Thankfully, Amazon is super easy with returns.

I was really hoping to see more white or cream used. Her minidress underneath could have been white. Same with the shawl. Egyptians were simply not covered in gold all day every day and I get tired of the constant gold.

Honestly, I really wish they'd leaned into silver. Silver was far more precious, because it wasn't as easy to get. I've been wanting a silver Cleo for years.

I saw a lot of complaining about this skirt but for me, that's the highlight of this outfit. It reminds me of Amarna style, which the original MH body also does. Leaving her in just the minidress weakens the doll extremely and shows disrespect for the cultural inspiration.

She's another stunning Cleo.

Absolutely love the back of this headdress.

Gorgeous.

Her heels are Anubises bearing ornaments. Kitschy cute.

I don't love her as much as the masquerade one, but she is undoubtedly stunning.

But now could we PLEASE have a holiday Abbey?!!!

REVIEW: Barbie Dream Besties MALIBU

Apologies to Malibu here for leaving her boxed for weeks.

She likes pink and gets to wear pink. I swear, they'd better let Brooklyn wear pink if they get another line.

While I like the finger holds on some of the accessories, the fact that she's wearing mittens makes them unusable. They should have left the hand part off those ugly gloves.

I love the old school phone-style case...but the phone doesn't fit in it.

Pretty but my least favorite by far.

I do like the general style of her outfit, but I'm so tempted to hack the hands off the gloves.

Her hair is the worst in the line. It shed all over and is very frizzy.

Nope.

Yeah, there's a reason I just wasn't in a hurry to open her. I still think this line is very cute, but she's the weak link in the first series.

JEM IS EXCITEMENT.

AAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAAA!

I was so surprised this morning to learn that TLS Toy, who currently is giving us Strawberry Shortcake and Rainbow Brite, signed a deal with Hasbro and will be handling my favorite 80s thing ever: JEM!

The above picture is described as "an early look" at Jem, so this is likely a prototype and changes will be made. Of course, some people that don't like fun are already complaining, as they did with the other 80s toys, but shut up and let the rest of us be happy. I'm thrilled to see Jem in another toy incarnation. She and Pizzazz have appeared a few different ways in the years since the original vintage line and Integrity's adult-level take on the brand, so I'm hoping this does well and we'll actually get the other members of the bands, too.

TLS will also be doing POPPLES!

I can't wait to see where all this leads.

Pretty Little Pups COMPLETE!

I am overjoyed to finally be able to say I have all twelve Pretty Little Pups. A kind, generous Instagrammer offered me the last one I needed recently, and I spent some time cleaning everyone up before taking these pics.

So these are some of the first ones I got in childhood. These came out in 1989 and they were pretty cheap, which is why I ended up with so many.

Peppi, Doxie, Trixie and Scotti.

SNOWBALL!

There on the left is my newest one. So excited to have him. The other three are my other childhood ones.

Snowball, Alphie, Boomer and Spanky. (The names. Sigh.)

These are the other four I've acquired in adulthood.

Speckles on the left I got years ago. Puffy the pink one I got in 2021 and Gidget and Bobo in 2022.

Speckles, Gidget, Puffy and Bobo.

I consider my collection complete, even though they're far from pristine. I would love a carded one someday, but that's icing on the cake.

One more of Snowball, because look at that hair.

REVIEW: More Cup O' Style!

Amazon finally shipped my 5 Cup O' Styles and I got lucky. The only double code I ended up with was another Saki, so I set her aside for return.

I did add the new codes to my code post for these.

So here is Piper Pumpkin.

Teeny backpack.

She's super cute.

ADORABLE.

I love her eye color.

Tori Tomato!

These two were my most wanted after Whitney and they do not disappoint.

DARLING.

I love her so. I don't even mind the hated crocs because they work for her.

That purse.

She's perfect.

I got the actual Teia Tropical this time, not just her shorts with another doll.

Gorgeous. I love her skintone. It reminds me of Bratz Nevra.

I wasn't obsessed with the idea of finding her, but I'm really glad I did. She's better in person.

Yay. The cuteness.

Rory Rainbow is one that I initially wasn't going to open, but when I had all the others, I figured why not?

Pastel rainbows aren't my favorite and they frequently leave out orange/peach.

I don't know what this thing is. I thought maybe backpack, but Piper's has straps. These are just hooks.

Her hair is nice, though again, I would have loved peach to be in there.

She's cuter than I expected and I'm glad I opened her.

She is tippy though. Very, very tippy.

Green, red and orange. The forbidden "girl" toy colors. Yet here they are looking amazing and these three are far and away my favorites.

Looking forward to the next batch!

VVD's Master Want List

I thought I'd update my master want list post, so this is a ton of what I'm looking for, though a lot of it isn't active looking. Like I'd have to have so much more fun money to really look for all this stuff!

I'm new at collecting Blinkins, so I only have two. These are the other four I'm after. I don't need boxed, but I would like the dolls themselves to be complete.

This one I'd like complete except for the comb.

Just the doll here.

And complete here.

Castle Keeps Gargoyles

This is the light pink one.

The yellow may sadly only exist in prototype form.

I've sold a few of my flocked Charmin' Farm Friends, but I'd still love this purple horse and the cow in any color that isn't green. I'd be interested in the lamb in any colors that aren't like this one here, which I finally got.

Barndazzlers!

I have this cow in aqua, but I'd love more.

The lamb.

And the horse.

I love these goofy things.

2nd series Chocolottie.

3rd series Cookies and Cream.

Someday, Brittany. Someday.
