REVIEW: American Girl AG Sisters FRANCIE

So after buying Wednesday and the plush ragdolls AND getting a birthday reward, I had over $80 to spend on American Girl that needed to be done before early December.

I ended up grabbing Courtney's very 80s blazer that Claudia and Stacey would approve of, and a mug with Felicity's dress print on it.

I had trouble finding something else, so I decided this was the perfect time to test out one of the brand new AG Sisters line.

Francie was the one who called to me the most. I like her kind of wider set eyes.

But also her Bichon reminds me of my late Maltepoo, Riley, so that was also a big draw.

I like her hair and the cute braid with butterflies, though it took me a while to get it right where I wanted. I didn't want it hanging in her face, so I clipped one of the barrettes through both her loose hair and the braid. Her hair is very slippery though, so this wasn't easy!

She's unusual cute.

The backpack. I shoved the dog stuff and her drink in there.

She's a cute doll, but I would never pay full price for one. I'm content with the $20 she cost after rewards came out. Glitter Girls are a similar quality and cost a hell of a lot less. (I was too lazy to get one down to do a comparison photo.)

REVIEW: Hello Kitty and Friends MY MELODY

Got my hands on My Melody at last. I love that she was in stock on Amazon, but they weren't shipping my order because it wasn't near the estimated date yet. Cancelled that and made a new order!

Cute!

I like the color palette.

There's never much to say about these girls aside from that they're cute. And I hope the line continues with male characters.

REVIEW: Rainbow High Sparkle and Shine LEILANI

Leilani surprised me by showing up just as I was uploading my first back of review pics for the day. I obviously stopped to open her and take pics for her own review.

She's my least fave of the four, but that's not saying she's bad at all. She's lovely.

Very cute face.

Her outfit is a little weird. I'm not sure why they gave her the destined to rot plastic straps when her top is fine without them.

Love her purse. It's so cute.

These pics were taken right out of the box, so she's still gelled. Like Misty, it's not that bad, but enough that I hate it. I just hate the feel of gel, so right after this, she was off to the salon. I'll have to post an after pic. I just wanted to show her as she was in case a conditioning destroys all her curls!

I love the absolutely bizarre critter on her phone case. It has no painted eyes, but big lashes. Hilarious. I like the occasional nods back to the Poopsie lines.

I like Leilani a lot and I'm glad she got to come home with Misty. Now we just need Whitney and Dawn!

REVIEW: Rainbow High Sparkle and Shine MISTY

FINALLY!

This is my first review in almost a month. It's that money's tight time of year, but I just did really well on some sales, so expect a bunch more reviews coming soon. Especially because MGAE in particular is nailing us with new releases.

I can't tell you guys how happy I am to finally have this girl in my hands. (That's what my initial "finally" meant, although it also can pertain to finally getting back to reviewing.)

I was so worried the US was not getting these. I'm still nervous about Whitney, my second fave from this line, and Dawn, but at least I have Misty. And boy, do I love Misty.

While Misty isn't as loaded with gel as past RHers, she still had enough that I wanted to wash her out. I didn't like how her hair was messed up from packaging, so I changed it a bit.

I undid the band that was holding two pigtails of microbraids severely against her head, so now they're moving freely. I also pulled the straight hair that was stuck in those pigtails out, because it was tangled. So she's got more loose hair around her face than her stock hairstyle.

She is absolutely stunning.

Love the makeup.

Also love her blend of hair colors. She's very unique.

I haven't watched the show so I'm not sure what Misty's thing is. Her box showed some plant stuff, so maybe she's into botany.

I like her style. I'm not into fashion, but it feels like a blend of goth and dark academia. Or maybe that last part is just from the collar on her top. I dunno.

Her makeup definitely fits into goth. One of the main reasons I wanted her so badly is that you do not see dolls of non-white goths very often. Especially not black goths. While she's not pure goth, she's still a dark enough aesthetic that it fills my need for more non-white goth dolls a little. Only a little though. More companies need to get on this.

Anyway.

Misty's mirror makes me think of the unused Storywood theme. It just looks fairytaleish with the design and the swan.

I like all of her accessories, though I never care for the drinks much and the lipgloss keeps wanting to come apart, so I popped it in her purse.

If she's into plants like her decor hints, I wish she'd come with a tiny plant or a botany book.

Absolutely stunning. She is right up there with Shani and Monique as my fave RH/SH black characters.

I hate that people will probably sleep on this line because whine whine articulation whine whine childish legs whine whine. Misty is an amazing doll.
