Part of the Shimmerverse world, this is the set with Unia and Rainbow Star, her "pegacorn."
Eeyeah, more on that later.
I ordered on Amazon for $29.99.
This bottle, by the way, is ENORMOUS. I get that it's their gimmick, but this is way too much plastic.
She's suuuuuuper cute! I still prefer the original Unia, who is one of my top Pixlings, but I call her by her original name of Celeste. So this new one can be Unia and they're not the same character.
I did not do a side by side shot and I really should have.
I really love the hair colors.
Adorable braids.
Really love the wings.
Now moving on to Rainbow Star.
She's poseable in many places.
This is clearly a DRAGON though. Those are not the feet of a "pegacorn."
She's basically a dragon with a unicorn horn and some pegasus wings in a really odd place. I don't get this choice, as they could easily have had the wings in the normal spot and maybe just stick out a bit more to leave room for Unia's legs. But no, we got asswings.
Her hair is nice.
Her face is lovely, too. I like her a lot, just not the placement of the wings and them not even recognizing that this is a dragon.
Now the checklist has something interesting.
There's a helpful key to IDing the core Shimmerverse Pixlings, but also a pic of the Limited Edition Unia.
Limited to only 1000 pieces. She is NOT going to be easy to get. And it sounds like she's just randomly going to be in Pixlings bottles, so I'm guessing you'll be thinking you got Faye, but no, it's Unia...and then you have to buy another Faye. But it's worth it, because Unia's resale value is going to be pretty high. The page says "available in Pixlings potions packs throughout the Shimmerverse series," so that sounds like all of the dolls might end up being her.
Overall, this set is yet another adorable Pixlings offering. I'm pleased I got it. Even with the weird wings.

I really like Rainbow Star, even with the weird butt wings. Heck, kinda because of it since it makes for such a... unique... design choice. I like creatures that make me go 'What the fuck?'
ReplyDeleteBut yeah, that's a dragon. Or at least an Alicorn if they want to keep pretending it's a pegasus/unicorn hybrid. I know MLP took that term and ran off with it, but it's not, like, their word as far as I can tell.
