REVIEW: Doll Haus of Dread Hellraiser

Finally! FedEx held her prisoner. She was supposed to be here Saturday.

Definitely my most anticipated doll from the Doll Haus of Dread line.

I love Hellraiser.

We'll address the big question first: Yes, I think the hat is goofy.

HOWEVER.

There was no way in hell (ha) that Jakks was going to put out a bald doll with pins sticking out of her head to go on the shelves at damn Walmart.

Like seriously. If you thought that, you were deluding yourself.

They found a clever way to work in the pins and even some blood without it automatically putting Walmart parents up in arms. I do think this would have worked better in fabric with real pinheads and red stitching, but budgets exist. Stop expecting these companies to be Integrity or Defa Lucy.

This is actually better than what I was expecting. The outfit blows me away.

The skirt is HEAVY. The chains are real. I'm pretty sure anyway. They feel like metal rather than plastic.

The corset. Oh, the corset. Brilliant way to work the peeled skin in without it giving away what exactly it's supposed to be to those that don't know.

The Lament Configuration purse is well done. My only nitpick here is that I wish her right hand could hold it.

This is what the dress looks like under the corset.

Please do note that these clothes do not come off. I didn't pay attention with the Scream doll, but yeah, there are no fastenings anywhere.

The shoes.

And without the hat.

I may think it's clever, but I'm not going to display her in it.

I love her silver and blood red hair. Love the little face-framing pieces and the pigtails.

I love the blue detailing and the gloves.

She's so amazing. I put her right out in the living room on my shelf of favorites.

After washing the gel out, of course. I left it in the face-framing bits but not the tips of her pigtails.

I don't care what anyone says, this is one of my favorite dolls of the year. I'll have to do a top 10 for the year in January or something. Maybe top 13 or 20.

She's got an adorable face with fun makeup, lovely hair, and a stunning outfit.

Can't wait to see more from this line. I already submitted my suggestions on the website.

REVIEW: Bratz Hello Kitty KUMI

Well, that's a terrible picture.

I grabbed Kumi at Target as part of my birthday treats on Tuesday.

She's gorgeous.

I love to see darker Bratz, as always. The blue streaks in black hair always reminds me of my very favorite, PnP Jade.

I would wear those pants. I would wear those shoes if I wore heels.

I love that she's got glasses, but I will always hate how companies package dolls with glasses.

You've either got them fully wrapped to protect the doll's face, which tends to warp the glasses. I always have to bend pairs that are fully wrapped. Or you've got them unwrapped and then they mark up the face. That's what happened here. She's got a nice black mark to the left of her nose. I got most of it off, but not all of it.

My solution is to have them off to the side, so they and the doll don't get damaged. It'd suck for in box collectors, but eh. I still think it'd be better than getting a $35 marked up doll.

I think she would have been better with a burgundy, wine or dark purple lip, but she's still a lovely doll. I'm always happy to see Kumi.
