REVIEW: Zuru A Lot A Axolotls

What's that you said? Zuru is doing an axolotl line for $5 each?

TAKE MY MONEY. 

I absolutely wiped my work Walmart out of these. I figured my best chance of getting a full set was getting them from the same place all at once. 

I'm not going to post their official names. Like I think this is Dance-a-lotl. Just imagine cutesy stuff like that. 

So for $5, you get a poseable axolotl, a sticker, some play sand, and two accessories. 

I actually really love the dancer. She was like my third most wanted after the two spooky ones. Not my usual type, but I've got a love for purple and gold together. 

Okay, I said I wasn't going to do names, but this is Undertake-a-lotl and that's just hilarious. 

My second most wanted after the rare Scare-a-lotl. 

I love everything about him. 

Their little arms are on a ball joint, so they can swing out to help hold the accessories. However, they pop off REALLY EASILY. Be mindful of where you're opening these guys, because the arms and small accessories are easy to lose.

If you shove the edge of the hat under the gill, it will sometimes stay on. Most of the headgear is not stable. 

I had to work to get him to hold the brush. I'm displaying a lot of these without their accessories. Like they're cute, but I really just wanted the figures. 

The gamer. 

Definitely not one I was interested in accessory-wise but look at this face.

 

More like Sass-a-lotl. 

Those two are more coral. These two are much lighter, but still a peachy tone more than a straight up pink.  

On the left is the snack guy and the right is the rapper. The cap actually comes with the rapper, but I didn't want to hide his lightning bolt. I think it looks cute on the snacky guy with his little donut. 

The singer is more a true pink. I like her earrings. They come loose, so you can put them wherever on her gills you want.

Moving on to the aqua. 

This one is a chef. 

And this one just wants a nap. I relate to him very much. 

Normally, I don't like anything that hides their faces, but this snorkel is precious. 

So cute!

I think this little traveler has one of the best color schemes. Absolutely adore the gill colors and white belly.  

Tiny suitcaaaaaaase.

I was so lucky this morning, because I got the rare astronaut! He wasn't on my radar, because a) rare and b) Scare-a-lotl is more my style. 

But his colors. His colorrrrrrrrrrs. 

I meant to take a picture of him with his helmet on, because it's very cute, but I got distracted by these colors. 

Yeah, I can't get over how gorgeous he is. 

So from the commons, I'm missing the nurse and the reader (fourth most wanted!). And then Scare-a-lotl, who's rare like the astronaut here. 

My store seemed to have two cases. From pictures I've seen online, I'm pretty sure a case is 12. All the balls were unloaded into a Zuru display setup, so I didn't see the case itself. I bought 15 of them and ended up with 12 different. I'd love to know if there was a rare in each case, but even if there isn't, you're not going to get a full set in one case. 

I have doubles of the traveler, the sleepy one, and the snack one. I'd happily trade for the nurse or reader. (No one's going to give up Scare-a-lotl!) Or if anyone wants them, I'd gladly sell for $5 plus shipping. 

I love these. They're the cutest little things.

REVIEW: Magic Mixies Pixlings BEARLINDA

My Bearlinda arrived from Amazon today. 

I wasn't really excited about this one, but I can't resist a Pixling. 

And she surprised me with that face. She has a lot of lovely painted detail on her forehead, eyes and cheeks. I like that her eyes are done in darker blue and the lips are darker pink. She's got excellent contrast.  

She really is very lovely except for the damn ears. That's the only "polar bear" thing on her. It's like they wanted to make a cloud theme but felt they needed an animal attached. I don't know why. Just make her a cloud sprite or something. 

Failed at showing the detail on these. Like all Pixlings footwear, they're cute. 

Her hair is in these twists that I'm leaving in place. 

I did not expect her to make it to the coffee table with my other faves, but she's out here. There are some that aren't here that I do like better than her, but for the moment, I want to see her more often. 

Now to wait impatiently for the next series!

FINALLY.

I've ordered so many of these from Amazon, trying to get this girl, and she showed up at last in part of my most recent batch. Then twice more in the second part of the same order. Then again at Walmart. Typical. 

But now I only need the Stitch one. 

Definitely my favorite. As if I wouldn't love the white-haired, pinstripe-sporting goth.

REVIEW: Shibajuku Anime KIKI

Finally got Kiki home!

She's the only other one from this line I'm interested in. I've seen pictures of the pink and blue girls and they're easy passes, so maybe I could like the blonde in purple, but I'm not counting on it. 

I really like her yellow, black and white color scheme. 

Adorable! 

Okay, yeah, the tie is printed on, but she's still cute. 

The sleeves do like to fly off, so I have to keep her hands tilted. 

Mine came with an extra barrette loose in the bottom of the box. Not sure if that's intentional or not. 

I love her as much as Akira. 

These two have crashed my SH shelf, which sits above the shelf where I do reviews, hence the Adoorbs hanging out there. (I'm planning on redoing the shelf where they're going to go, but I've been caught up redoing my closet first.)

REVIEW...ish: Monster High Skulltimate Secrets Series 5

Just a few quick pics from my Garden set. I was going to do reviews and then lost the energy. 

This is possibly my favorite Laura from G3, although I'm taking the opportunity to think of her as Elissabat instead. 

I love the color scheme and the design of her outfits, though I do think she has the weakest shoes of the three. 

I also really wish they'd put those non-slip straps in the skirts. And that hers sat a bit lower. A long skirt would have actually been really great here. I don't know why they're so afraid of them. 

 

I was not that into the stock pics of this Twyla. 

But she's gorgeous in person.

I loved both pairs of shoes for her. I gave the purple book heels to my Neon Twyla. 

 

While I don't think this is her best hair by a long shot, this is my favorite G3 Twyla face. 

I normally don't care about hair types, but the poly or whatever this is really does not work for this hairstyle. Her pigtails are rough and uneven, and her bangs should sweep lower, but simply refuse to. 

I still adore her though. That face and outfit can't be brought down by sub-par hair. 

I was least excited for Venus. She just didn't look as good in her promos. 

And then I pulled her out of the coffin and BOOM, epic love. 

Pictures do not do her justice. She is one of the prettiest G3s they've done. 

Vine edges. VINE EDGES. Amazing. 

The best one from this set. Hands down. And that's saying a lot, because I love this line a lot. Definitely my favorite Skulltimate series. 

I just got the Hissfits today, but I'm going to skip pictures. They've been out forever. I really wish they'd add Meowlody and Purrsephone to future regular lines, because Purrsephone especially would look so good with her bob, but I'm scared to chop the hair on a doll from a sold out set!

REVIEW: TLS Toy's Recent Rainbow Brite & Strawberry Shortcake Additions

I was supposed to get this package on my birthday on the 30th. We got water and power back instead, which was definitely a better gift! 

Amazon took the longest to recover from the hurricane, so I ended up ordering these dolls from Big Bad Toy Store. 

I didn't take any out of box shots of Stormy, but she's lovely. 

Poseable Stormy is also fantastic. 

Has anyone gotten anything other than the headband? I haven't seen anyone with other accessories. I think there's a vest and maybe boots?

 

The headband is actually really cute on her, though I don't like that it blocks her colored braid. 

Love her hair. 

And I love her!

So cute!

Okay, now where are Indigo and Lala? Then my faves will be complete.

Love the purse. I wish they changed up the lunchbox colors like SSC did though. 

I think this looks better on her than Rainbow's did. 

I love this line so much. I can't wait for the rest!
