NEWS: Cave Club
All right, let's move on from the drama and hopefully never have to deal with the nonsense again.
ToyWiz came through with some promo pics for Cave Club! Thanks, ToyWiz. Unfortunately, because they're who they are, we can't use them as price point guides. The basics are listed at $17.99, so I'm guessing they'll actually be $14.99, but we'll know more about pricing when we get closer to release time.
So they've got photos of three different types of dolls.
This is the basic Roaralai. They have deluxe versions for everyone except her, but the deluxe just seems to have a hair accessory? I don't think that merits $2 more. I don't get it.
Roaralai remains my favorite.
The regular dolls and bigger sets all have June ship dates, but the deluxe ones have May. Not sure what's up with that either.
Here on the right is the Wild About Cats Roaralai set. I love both versions of her, so I'll definitely be buying both.
I like the blue in her hair here.
The cat accessories are cute, too.
Here's Tella. This is the "deluxe" version I mentioned. The hair extension on the right seems to be what makes it deluxe. I'm not posting both promos of the same doll that only differ by the hair extension, so just know that the ones shown with the extension may or may not actually come with them.
I like Tella a lot. I love a good night sky theme.
And this is Slate. Like Tella, he has no playset variation, so I figured I'd show them and then move on to the others with playsets.
Slate is super cute! The hair extension is a bit ridiculous with him though.
I love that he's an artist. So adorable.
Fernessa the plant one. She's growing on me. Ha. Growing. Yeah, I know. I prefer the other themes to just plants, so admittedly, she's not my favorite. I also think they missed an opportunity to give her green hair. I mean, the pink and green is already screaming Venus, so why not just go all out? There are never enough dolls with green hair.
Fernessa's playset is Wild About Babysitting. The little one is Furrah. This is cute, but I think I'll likely pass on it. Her outfit is similar to the basic doll's, but the basic doll did it better, and i just don't care about little sisters.
Adorable Emberly. I like her a lot. The tiny hammer is giving me Tink memories. Oh, Disney Fairies. I miss you.
I'm not sure if she or Tella is my second favorite. It's really close.
Emberly's playset is Wild About BBQ. I'm not sure if I'll get this or not. She does have a nice dress here and I like her hair a smidge shorter, too. And her pet is even cuter than the basic version. Yeah, I'll probably get it.
So that's all the info and pics from Toy Wiz. I did read an article with more detail though:
https://thenerdy.com/mattel-cave-club-dolls/
Important parts from that:
-The dinosaur-riding girl is actually a dino-whisperer. The article lists her name as Raquel, but I saw Rockelle in the trademarks, so either version may be possible.
-The animated series comes in July.
-The graphic novel in August.
-They say the dolls are August, Toy Wiz says May/June.
-The blind-packed pet line will come later. There are 9 different ones that come with slime or sand, plus a hairpiece for the doll and a story.
-One of their themes seems to be "the world's first" so the world's first babysitter, first barbecue, etc.
Some of that info may be wrong, because here are two graphic novel listings on Amazon with release dates of June 30th.
https://www.amazon.com/Cave-Club-vol-Dawn-Kids/dp/1499811330/
https://www.amazon.com/Cave-Club-vol-Truly-Unruly/
$10.99 for a hardcover. Not bad.
Dawn of the Kids:
Jump back in time to a world of stomping dinosaurs, erupting volcanoes, and the most chaotic creatures to ever trample this earth: KIDS! Emberly, Tella, Fernessa, Roaralai, Slate, and Ruly are six best friends who are almost as wild as their hair! To make sure fun and freedom never go extinct, these best barefoot friends invent many new concepts, from friendship, birthdays, and pets (pet rocks, to be specific) to competitions, sneak attacks, and groundings (when their parents bury them in the ground to try to keep them out of trouble). Now, they're letting loose, exploring the wild, and cracking up the bedrock of civilization as the Cave Club!
This graphic novel contains two original stories. In "Meet the Cave Club," read all about Emberly, Tella, Fernessa, Roaralai, Slate, and Ruly, and how they invented friendship. Then, join them on an epic adventure involving birthday bog-loons, wild badger pets, angry raptors, and more in "An Egg-cellent Adventure." When Emberly invents the idea of a birthday, she tries to surprise Fernessa with the best birthday ever, but her presents create chaos and disaster instead! Can she pull off the perfect birthday surprise without putting everyone in too much danger?
Truly Unruly:
This graphic novel contains two original stories. In "The Curse of the Were-roar," Fernessa and Slate lay a trap to catch the mysterious creature that has been trashing their village, destroying crops, and creating chaos. Then, in "Fight For Your Right to Treeball," Roaralai wants to compete in the annual Treeball Tournament with the best athletes from the nearby villages, but no kids have ever been allowed to play before. Can she change the rules and win the game?
Ruly seems to be the sixth one here. I wonder if that's dino-whisperer Raquel/Rockelle or a new character?

Let's Do the Dirty Work First.
I've got some fun Cave Club stuff to talk about, thanks to ToyWiz and their promo pic game, but first, I've got to get my hands dirty and deal with some drama.
It's been so long. It's almost exciting.
If anyone's out there letting kids read this blog, you might want to pass this post over. I try to use more family-friendly language in the toy-centric posts, but for this type of thing, I can't guarantee clean word choices. In fact, I CAN guarantee I won't use clean word choices in the least.
So when I was doing one of my Toy Fair posts, I found the best picture of the bunch on Instagram and linked to it. I did notice one really shitty comment underneath it and made note of it here under my link, as a warning to those who clicked the link.
Here's what I said:
"I'm super excited for Emily and rolled my eyes hardcore at the comments by people bitching because she got in before some of the originals. So the F what. Grow up. And stop using 'triggered' to reference things that are minor. Those aren't triggers. Rude, ignorant little children."
Then someone who either knows the OP or actually IS the OP decided to be rude to me here, because they disagreed with my thinking misusing "triggered" was harmful. They went on for several comments, which I ended up deleting, because I like to keep things pleasant. I did agree with them on one single point: that I shouldn't be linking to somewhere with content I didn't like. So I made my own screenshot, used it and deleted my original commentary in the blog itself, as well as all the comments. The negative person went away and I thought this was taken care of, but of course, nope, the OP has shit to say, too.
However, if you're really, truly going to call someone out, you might want to...oh, I dunno...make them aware of it? I learned this secondhand from a friend. It's been days since it was posted, I think.
So there's a pic with a few screenshots. They kinda make it look like I posted entirely about what they said, which isn't true. And that I included a picture of their original comment, which also is not true.
It seems their issue with me is that I said something about them without talking to them first. Which is pretty funny, considering they posted this fabulous "call out" without saying a word to me. Unless they were actually the nasty person that was commenting here, although that person professed that the OP did not yet know about the incident.
Well, here's my first point: I didn't say anything to them, because I didn't want to interact with them. I don't like Instagram. I don't plan on using it whatsoever. I'm never going to post pictures there. I just wanted to see the Toy Fair photos being posted and link to them in posts here until we get something better. (If we get something better. My favorite source has been failing.) So I'm sorry, random stranger, but I didn't want to spend the time to comment under you to criticize how you used "triggered" in a completely casual way, which I find very disrespectful to people with actual triggers.
Secondly, and I'm sure the people who want to hate me will just plain not believe this, but I didn't realize the person who made the ignorant comment was the same person who ran the account. Do people often comment on their own photos? Is that an Instagram thing? Because, as I said, I don't plan on using it at all, so I haven't bothered to pay attention to how people do stuff there. So yeah, I had no idea the comment and post were both made by the same person. If I had realized it, I wouldn't have used the link at all. And that's another reason why I didn't say anything to the person who left the comment. Because I didn't want to stir up shit under someone else's account.
I do wish I'd noticed, because then I would have just gone immediately and made my own picture, not bothering with any Instagram nonsense at all. Yep, I fully admit that was wrong of me. If you want something done right, do it yourself instead of being lazy and linking to something with a comment that bothers you. Lesson learned.
So yeah, definitely sorry about that. But if you expect an apology for being pissed off at the casual use of "triggered," you're not gonna find one. Because I think it's exactly what I said the first time: rude, ignorant and childish.
And yes, that comment is 100% trash content. I absolutely said that and stand by it. The entire account is not trash, because I didn't look at it. What I said about trash was directed only at that single comment.
I don't know when casually using "triggered" became a thing. I've only noticed it very recently. I cringe every time I read it, because I really do find it that ignorant. Some people probably don't realize when they're throwing it around that it's not slang. It is indeed an actual term. A real trigger is something that reminds you of a past traumatic experience. They can even cause serious reactions like panic attacks. They are certainly not the presence of a particular character in a doll line. I do find using it so casually and thoughtlessly to be a terrible practice that people should stop immediately. It is not cute slang. It's a term that needs to be respected, because respecting the term means respecting the people that actually have triggers. This isn't something I will ever change my mind on, so don't even waste time trying to say that it's harmless, like the person who left nasty comments here did. It IS harmful, whether you think so or not. Apparently, OP thinks I'm mean and disrespectful because I said this, but to me, what they did is far, far worse, and I do not apologize for a single second for voicing my opinion on it. Especially now in the light of them saying they stand by what they said and consider it a joke even. That's so awful. I hope someday they realize how disrespectful it really is.
I've been doing doll-related things online for years. People should know me by now. I am Opinionated. Capital fucking O. That should probably be fully in caps even. And italicized. Some people think I am rude or mean. That's fine by me. Think what you like, but I am never going to be afraid to say what I think, especially when it comes to what I consider wrong behavior. If you don't like it, you don't have to read this blog.

HAIRDORABLES Series 4 Part 9
Three more newbies today. Slowly but surely getting all of Series 4! Except butterfly Neila. That's never gonna happen.
High Note Harmony was pretty low on my list, but she's actually very cute.
I think it's the yellow pants. They're not the most attractive. Maybe another shade of yellow would have been better. Or blue.
Her shoes are super cute and she's the only one of the beach dolls I'm keeping with her sunglasses on.
She smells like pina colada.
Another swim doll. La Playa Skylar was one of my most wanted from the splash set.
She's got the generic beach scent.
I love the purse and the flower hairpiece.
She's a little bit dressed up for the beach, but still not unrealistically so.
Cute!
Sweet Cinnamon Skylar just arrived. She's not one of my faves from the carnival line. She's cute and I do love the glasses, but I'm not a fan of the random loose lock of hair and her outfit is kinda all over the place.
But there's a reason for that.
There. That's better. It's because she comes with the shoes for Sugar Skull Skylar and vice versa!
Sweet Cinnamon doesn't smell like cinnamon at all, but she does have a nice scent of vanilla frosting.

REVIEW: Trolls World Tour DJ Suki and Barb dolls
I picked up Suki a while ago at Walmart, but waited for Barb to get here, too, to show them both.
These dolls are basic, but also really cute, and run about $9.99 each.
Poppy also comes in this basic style, and then there are more detailed one for $14.99 that have shoes and accessories. I plan on getting Satin and Chenille at some point.
Suki has cute, curly hair.
Her dress is just a simple sheath, but it's cute.
The bodies are very basic, but I honestly think these would look weird overly-articulated.
This is the girl I was really excited for! I managed to scoop up the last one on ebay for retail. I don't think she's come back in stock since.
She is super adorable! I love the mohawk.
I would have liked another Barb with her sassy expression, but this one is so cute that I can't fault them for using it.
Her earrings are cute and I love the raggedy ear.
Her outfit is very simple, like Suki's, but I do like the belt. I'll have to see if anything else might fit her. Something with more black... But she's so small, the options aren't really there.
Two very different trolls!

TOY FAIR 2020: Part 3
Some quickies before I head to bed.
HAIRDORABLES:
One last bit from Hairdorables! The Hairmazing signature dolls are continuing.
Brit, Rayne, Sallee and Emily are being teased in the art here.
Brit and Rayne have clearly been tanning.
SO EXCITED FOR EMILY.
LOL:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-6OPyn_e6/
Awful photo that looks like it's a video still. Maybe a new boy line? I think those are all boys? They're so blurry.
POOPSIE:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-6J4dndzA/
I have an enormous pet peeve about companies bringing trashy prototypes. Do you really think people want to look at a doll with a broken neck? Stupid, MGAE. Truly stupid.
Cool that they seem to be a more normal-sized doll line as opposed to the giantesses we got last time.
The orange girl looks like Mia Monarch from Fantasy Friends, while the blue and purple look like the dolls made in the much larger size.
Now I'm soooooooooo excited for these next ones:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B8-6HM5H9J0/
More Fantasy Friends!
Mixed in with the existing series.
Left pic:
-Sunflower blonde
-Very dark-skinned leaf girl
-Green dragonfly girl
-Pink-haired spider goth
Right pic:
-Darkish girl with a succulent on her head. That's what it reminds me of anyway.
-Dark-skinned boy who looks like he should be a faun
-Blonde snake goth
-Egyptian boy WHY THE HELL IS HE BLOND?!!!!!!!
I'm so thrilled to see darker skintones. The first series was very lacking. I do love the Egyptian boy, but I'm very confused why he's blond. Very confused. I will buy all these ones I'm seeing though. Really do love them all.
HATCHIMALS:

You can see more of the mini Pixies here. Looks like more than one goth! Yay.
JAKKS MINNIE MOUSE:

DAISY DAISY DAISY THEY MADE A DAISY!!!!!! All I wanted from this line was her. When I was younger, I got the Minnie 'n' Me dolls from the local supermarket and I love them. I still have them. Somewhere. So when I first saw Minnie in Walmart, all I wanted was for them to make Daisy and they did. I need that set. The other three new ones are adorable, too. I may need to go get some of the current ones now...
DISNEY PRINCESSES:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B89-1z6JNnd/
OMG, they did the comfy princesses in the Amy Mebberson style. Might need this.
BOXY GIRLS:

Weird makeup dolls.
Oh, man, I almost completely forgot about one of the main reasons I did another post!

Okay, now I'm going to bed.

TOY FAIR 2020: Part 2
Okay, I finally have some free time when I'm not a work! Now to start getting caught up. I might miss things, because there's a lot, so bear with me.
I had to suck it up and join Instagram (HAAAAAAAATE) to see all the pictures, since my sources are behind.
I hate doing links, too, but it's the only way right now.
HAIRDORABLES:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B89J7D7nZp8/?utm_source=ig_web_copy_link
Hairdorables showed a few new things.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B88wZEynKNw/
Most unimportantly, the fangirl designs continue. The Hello Kitty Rayne is out now, but there will also be a Minions Sallee (ew) and a Trolls Harmony. That'll be the first Sallee and Harmony I skip.
Then we've got an all-boys blind-packed line.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B860bN-nNdj/
I really only want the 2 Ashers.
Some of the girls are getting the "Longest Hair Ever." Rayne, Noah and Kali shown here:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B89NcdqncbV/
And Willow:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B87CoaWnFUV/
These are all passable for me. I hate really long hair and they've done none of my favorites.
Hairmazing is getting a prom line with the same six characters:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B87tGJkn3QP/
On one hand, I'm mad they're doing this and not showing the remaining 9 girls as Hairmazing dolls. On the other hand, these blow away the first series and I'm impressed. Kali's boots are spectacular. I'll probably end up with all 6.
And finally, we've got Series 5, which is themed Hair Art, and continues the plastic box trend.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B85fIuRDiN0/
I've got mixed feelings on these, because some of the outfits are definitely not the usual Hairdorables quality. Emily is the clear standout as best. Harmony looks pretty good. Neila will be great once that ugly thing comes off her head. Kat finally gets an ultra rare, but it's that mess at the end with the full cat mask.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B88Qm-in2Bj/
Saige is still there as well. And Phoebe is also, but not one person zoomed in on her. This pic I think was stilled from someone's crappy, too fast video.
That's it for Hairdorables!
Boxy Girls has a new rainbow line:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B84RgkQDyRH/
Those look interesting.
Super 7 is doing JEM and PIZZAZZ!
https://www.instagram.com/p/B89KtuXAR6j/
Bananas are getting a crystal line.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B84gZ7tDItJ/
I think I can skip those.
Funrise is doing a blind-packed fairy line:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B87MkpaDMbn/
I'm not entirely sold, but I do like the purple one.
Here's a new line called Candie's Dolls:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B87-WaGDUjz/
https://www.instagram.com/p/B85gEcojHnh/
Kinda cute! Might get some.
Nothing really exciting Barbie-wise, because no one zoomed in on the Fashionista I like best:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B86YfQHnsny/
The tiny Asian girl in red and blue.
Hatchimals are expanding their Pixies into some true awesomeness. The Riders are amazing.

I've got to say I'm most excited about the mini Pixies because there's a little goth girl:

I'm going to end with some Cave Club photos for now. Definitely the most exciting thing about this year's Toy Fair!

Emberly is the palest girl. Tella, like telescope, seems into the night sky. Fernessa is the plant one, as I thought. Roaralai is the sabretooth girl! EEEEEE! My fave. And Slate, the boy artist. And that pet rock. I love it.

We don't know the dinosaur-riding girl's name yet.

I'm going to end up with them all.
I had to suck it up and join Instagram (HAAAAAAAATE) to see all the pictures, since my sources are behind.
I hate doing links, too, but it's the only way right now.
HAIRDORABLES:

Those look interesting.
Super 7 is doing JEM and PIZZAZZ!

Bananas are getting a crystal line.
https://www.instagram.com/p/B84gZ7tDItJ/
I think I can skip those.
Funrise is doing a blind-packed fairy line:
https://www.instagram.com/p/B87MkpaDMbn/
I'm not entirely sold, but I do like the purple one.
Here's a new line called Candie's Dolls:

Kinda cute! Might get some.
Nothing really exciting Barbie-wise, because no one zoomed in on the Fashionista I like best:

CUTETITOS MINITOS CHEAT CODES!
Finally found these little guys at Walmart!
I think they were $4.97.
Honestly, for that much, I'd say just get a Babito for a couple bucks more or a full-sized Cutetito. These things are cute and nicely-made, but after you see the size comparison, you'll see what I mean.
He's a cute little guy and I love chameleons, so I'm glad I got him, but yeah, small.
See? He's not even half the size of a Babito, which is only $2 more. Unless you like really tiny cute things, the other two lines are more worth the price.
The Fruititos theme also makes me think they're scented, but they're not.
Checklist. This guy was the only one I really liked.
So the codes. That's the important part, yeah?
The number is on the bottom of the package, underneath the batch number on the right.
And here's the list!
Jollito puppy 25319
Poppito bunny 25519
Bananito monkey 25419
Strawberrito cat 25919
Hennito chicken 26019
Kiwito pig 26119

TOY FAIR 2020: Part 1
So as I usually do, I won't be posting pics until we get some useable ones.
I HAAAAAAAAAAAAATE Instagram so much. The pictures just suck.
The biggest news I've seen so far (and admittedly, I've been at work, so I haven't looked much nor will I have time to because I'm a double the next 2 days) has been Mattel's Cave Club doll line.
Here's a link to a page that has no trouble stealing photos from Instagram:
http://www.youloveit.com/dolls/1132-cave-club-new-doll-line-from-mattel-in-prehistorik-style.html
Not sure about scale here, but these remind me of Monster High meets Enchantimals and the Flintstones.
Typical incorrect mixing of species for the time period, but I'll let it go for cuteness' sake.
Looks like we've got some basic dolls and then a couple repeat characters in larger babysitting and cooking sets.
My favorites are the paler girl with pink and orange hair, the sabretooth tiger girl, and the one with similar hair to the sabretooth girl only with more blue. I think that might be a dire wolf with her? I see a moon and star on her belt.
I decided to amuse myself and hit Trademarkia to see if anything jumped out at me. So here are some possibilities:
Rockelle, Flaire, Furrah, Tella, Fernessa, Slate, ROARALAI (OMG love it)
Cave Tots, Untameables
I hope Roaralai is the sabretooth girl! Eee!
On that same page I linked to, I spotted news that there will be two Monster High collector dolls. The first comes out June 1st and will cost $74.99 and the second August 1st at $59.99. Can't really get excited, because the price points are a bit high and I'm betting they're characters I won't be as interested in, like Frankie and Draculaura, as opposed to Abbey, Cleo, Twyla or Toralei.
And again on that page, Harry Potter looks to FINALLY be giving me my Luna doll. As well as Snape for Snape fans and a Harry/Voldemort 2-pack in the Goblet of Fire theme.
Spotted on Instagram were some Disney Princess additions from Hasbro, including Rapunzel (who we've seen for a while), Jasmine and Aurora to the Style Series line.
I hope to have loads of updates as the days pass and time allows. Hopefully Idle Hands comes through with the excellent pics.

HAIRDORABLES Series 4 Part 8
Yes, got some more! I'm getting there.
I bought Symphony Harmony off Mercari, because she'd shifted into the most wanted position and I didn't want to miss out on her.
I love this doll. One of the best Harmonys yet! I love the floral tux, top hat, boots and violin.
Her smell is vaguely floral. Nothing strong.
Cute little braid in front of the big curly ponytail.
The violin is such a nice touch.
And the tux. I love girls in suits.
Volleyballin' Brit!
Not a super high want, but I'm a sucker for crimped hair.
I don't see Brit wearing socks on the beach though. Sigh.
She's got the same random beachy smell as all the other swim dolls.
I do like the sport assortment that she does. But I still hate the socks with shoes on the beach.
I will forever love crimped hair. Forever.
I wasn't super into Watercolor Sallee, but she's actually lovely in person. The little flower details on her skirt overlay are really nice.
She's the first one where I've gotten a really strong whiff of the generic floral scent. And then it was gone. It's pretty, so it's a shame it's not stronger.
She comes with a watercolor set and an adorable purse. I love that watering can purse.
So cute.
Last but never least, SO EXTRA EMILY.
FINALLY.
I had to arrange a rather expensive trade to get this girl home. And then was immediately annoyed because the original trader who sent the doll to the friend I traded with did not include her stickers. I don't care about the dress, but I want her personalized stickers. Thankfully, she still has them and will send them.
I think you all can see why this was my most wanted. Finally, a clearly Asian character in one of these big-eyed trendy lines! Plus, she's got a partially-shaved head AND hair colors reminiscent of Rarity, Twilight Sparkle and Zatanna. The little tux is also Zatanna-ish.
Adorable purse, too.
I'm not sure what it's supposed to be exactly. A makeup compact? She's a makeup artist.
The other piece is a makeup mirror.
One more pic of her. She's so awesome.
Her scent is undefinable. It's sweet, but not distinctly anything. The closest match is DeeDee Float's vanilla.
SO HAPPY to have her! I'd spend more time gushing, but I need to get ready for work.

HAIRDORABLES Series 4 Part 7
My mom saw 6 Series 4s at Walmart and brought them all home. I had been going to order more soon, so this saves me some time.
I opened 4 doubles (Roses Are Bella, Orange U Noah, Beam Me Up Neila and Tiger Kat) and 2 new ones. I was happy that these were from the group I need more from though. It was just minor bad luck that I opened ones I'd already bought from ebay, Mercari and Amazon.
But the two new ones I did open up were quite good! Willow and Rayne are always popular and therefore, more pricey to get on the secondary.
Willowcorn was pretty low on my list, so I'm glad I opened her for retail price and didn't overpay for her online.
However, she's actually much cuter than I thought. I wasn't wowed by another Willow pool doll after we'd just gotten one last series.
And honestly, that cover up is not the cutest. It was a good idea sort of, but the execution is a bit cheap-looking.
However, if you take it off, she's super freakin' CUTE!
I'm pretty thrilled to have her now. The glasses with that hairstyle just make her look adorable.
I can't say exactly what she smells like. My nose is stuffy thanks to a recent allergy attack, so I'm not sure. Nothing really obvious. A lot of the swim dolls seem like this for me.
My second newbie I was instantly overjoyed with. I wanted Bubblegum Rayne for a while. A girl I sold to opened her on the same day she paid for my doll and didn't offer her to me in trade, which irked me a bit. So I always considered her one that should have been mine and now she is.
She smells like lovely bubblegum. I think this is one of my favorite scents, along with the roses and chocolate.
I am normally a dark lipstick girl, as you all know, but the light lips on this Rayne really work for her.
The balloon is top heavy, so it takes some positioning to get it to stay upright.
And her skates make her a bit tall for her stand, so she's not super stable.
She is so damn cute. I love her a lot. Possibly right up there with Rayne Shine.
I've got several coming in trade, so more parts of this soon!
